My family and I recently ate at The George for an evening meal. The food was served really quickly and was quality the fish are huge! They also have a good selection of draught beers

Had a lovely Friday night in the George with our friends who live local. Great food and great entertainment. The landlord and staff were friendly and extremely hard working. A fabulous experience which we look forward to repeating again. 10/10 Voir le carte

This was my first visit as our usual haunt is undergoing refurbishment. Firstly, the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The menu is typical pub grub, the chicken and leek pie was excellent as was the local dessert….Tidza pud. They beer...was well kept, I think we’ll be back, particularly as our dog was very welcome

we sat outside in the sunshine. in front of the hotel there were many tables. I really can't remember exactly what I had to eat, but I know that I ate everything and made a mental note to write a good critique. I think I have a sandwich and salat and it filled my needs as lunch. my man had chips with what he had, and I helped me a few when they were the best I ever had.

We've known this pub for over 30 years. The church next door has been the location for 2 family weddings and I stayed in The George the night before our wedding. We were told that The George was under new management, so the family dined...here one recent Friday night. I am very pleased to say that everything was absolutely perfect! The place was very clean, the food was excellent and the service was fabulous. The bonus of the Quiz was unexpected but delighted! It's so glad to see the old place revived! Voir le carte

the personal here is so friendly and relaxed. we are a great family with loud teenagers. the personal was very welcome when we visited a few times during our weekend in tideswell. decent bar and excellent frying dinner. Tidza pudding I didn't hear about, but it would have been definitiw. there is only a negatiw, but not worthy to lose a star - the vegetarian sausages were not too big and either be cooked differently or maybe another brand is used. excellent in portions and also the hoice of the sweet. thank you.

We feel very lucky to have chosen The George for a family celebration. The food was fantastic! It’s a lovely laid back pub with very friendly service and a lovely menu. Three of us had the belly pork which we all agreed was fabulous, one...had the burger on special which was delicious and mighty, and another had the risotto on special with a side salad, that was also very tasty. We all commented on how fresh and tasty the veg and salad were. Puddings all went down well too a great selection! Really super value all round. We agreed it’s definitely a place to make a trip to for lunch next time we’re in the Peak District. Thank you!

We like to try different pubs in the Peak District for Sunday lunch and I have to say that The George came pretty high up the list today. I can quite honestly say that although we've eaten in many places in Tideswell, we've never tried...The George, but seeing good reviews on TA, we thought we'd try it. I had the Turkey roast and the OH had the chicken, leek and bacon pie. There were 5 veg, plus mash and a superb Yorkshire pudding that must have just come out of the oven. We shared a crumble, which, again, was excellent (made with brown sugar and butter! It was all very reasonable and the staff were attentive.
