"We went as a family for my birthday, and received a lovely welcome from Lu the Landlady. She really has a way of connecting with customers and establishing a local friendly atmosphere. We ate.. A Mediterranean vegetarian tart with salsa salad and new potatoes Brocoli and cauliflower cheese bake. Fish and chips. And a deluxe burger. For dessert two lemon meringue sundaes and syrup sponge with custard. There were also chips... big double cooked chips. Everyone loved their meals. My family are locals and working their way through the menu. Thank Lu and Mr Lu...sorry I forget his name the chef...we will return! TERESA MOORE and Johnny. I was the Mediterranean tart! 10/10"

Do NOT go! The food is awful, poor quality and not good value for money! It was not even cooked well just hugely disappointing!

Visited when we stayed at the Wave (which is a 10 min walk away over the fields). Really nice family-run pub with great fish and chips and good range of beer

Good food, quick service. Nice beer garden. Carpark is visible from the benches. Awesome if you are traveling with stuff on your roof rack. A short detour off the motorway. Try a fox burger.

Called in on our way home from Cribbs Causeway. I had chilli half and half and my wife had gammon, egg and pineapple. Both meals were excellent, well cooked, hot and reasonably priced. It was accompanied by a couple of pints of superb cask beer. All in all, a great lunch stop. Voir le carte

I haven't been to The Fox in years, but I decided to give it a try. I'm very glad I did! The pub was welcoming and very clean inside. There were plenty of options on the menu, and the three of us thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. We will definitely be back. The food was not overpriced or pretentious, just good food cooked and served well. Thank you for a lovely lunch.

We chose The Fox as it was a convenient mid point between Cheshire and Cornwall and was just off the motorway. Having read the good reviews we were not disappointed. The menu had a variety of choices at reasonable prices. Everything was fresh, hot and good portion sizes. Staff were friendly and service was efficient. We'll definitely return again one day. Thank you, keep on doing what you are doing.

I would recommend avoiding The Fox in Easter Compton. The bar staff and landlady were ignorant and rude. When I asked for a beer, I was told I couldn't have one because it was quiz night and I hadn't made a reservation. I was told I could sit outside if I wanted instead. I will not be returning to this establishment and definitely would not recommend it to others. It seems they either have too much business or are very judgmental. Voir le carte

While heading back home to Staffordshire, we received a recommendation to visit this pub because their car park could accommodate our motorhome. It was only a 5-minute drive from the M5 and halfway home. We didn't have a reservation, but they were able to fit us in even though it was a busy Sunday lunchtime. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We are extremely grateful to the staff for their assistance and would highly recommend this establishment. Just a tip: it's best to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Called in today after collecting my daughter from uni. On our way home to South Wales. Lovely fire roaring behind us, which was very welcome in the negative figure temperatures we have been experiencing. The lady behind the bar who must have been the landlady was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Food was quickly delivered and delicious... 2 fox burgers, 1 steak and a broccoli bake . The chips were fab and prices reflective of good honest pub lunch. A lovely glass of shiraz too . The ginger sundae was delicious. Will definitely call in again on uni drop off und pick up days. Thank you x

"Went for an impromptu meal with her indoors, as this was a local pub we've not been in for a long time we thought will pop in. Greeted by an over enthusiastic bar person who was dragging out the empties from the night before, ordered a couple of drinks and we sat down with the menu's, after perusing the menu we were ready to order, at the same time we were ready a regular couple walked in and sat at there regular table and oredered there regular meal, but the regular gentleman actually wanted an extra sausage with his sausage and chips, well! The kerfuffle this caused was astronomical, this conversation went on for Many many minutes, my wife and I was desperately trying to catch her attention to have another drink, eventually my wife went to the bar and waited, we got served eventually. Then our food came out of the kitchen, we went for the light bites as we were in a snacky mood, Chicken strips Mozzarella bites Chips with curry sauce and nachos. We never got the nachos as there was no guacamole BTW Chips came out which were actually fries, covered in this sauce, gross, then we had 3 chicken strips with no garnish £4.95 £1.63 each Then 4 mozzarella bites came out, no, nothing else just 4 mozzarella bites, £4.95 £1.24 each. So if you want have your pants pulled down and be robbed of your hard earned cash then this is the place to go, as for me and my wife we won't be. We did mention the poor quality and value for money but it was brushed under the dirty carpet and she was going to feed our comments back to the kitchen."

"I was excited to revisit the New Inn after many years, as it used to be a favorite spot of mine. My group of 8 had pre-ordered at the request of the New Inn, but we were told 15 minutes after our booking time that our food was just being prepared. An hour later, our food still hadn't been served. After checking with the staff, the manager assured us that our order was next. Another 10 minutes passed before our food finally arrived. The gammon came with sides that we didn't like and were not mentioned on the menu. The portions were oversized, which was nice, but they were too much and off-putting. The salad trimmings were of poor quality. The fish in batter was enjoyed by those who ordered it. The main meals were okay, but I would have preferred better quality over quantity. We had to chase the staff for a glass of water, and even after being offered dessert menus, no one came to take our order. When we decided to follow up at the bar, the manager seemed more interested in finding out which staff member had failed to take our order than in solving the issue. The service was okay but could have been better, as no one checked on us after our meals were served. It seems like the staff could benefit from more positive training from a supportive mentor. When we asked for the bill, it took a while for it to be brought to us, so we ended up paying on the way out. It's a shame, as I had fond memories of the New Inn, but I am unlikely to return after this experience."
