"We had our wedding reception at the Golden Lion in Stithians and it was absolutely amazing. The pub is not just a pub - it is set in beautiful tiered gardens with bunting and lights, overlooking Stithians Lake. The interior is a mix of cozy cottage charm with a modern dining area that offers stunning views of the gardens and lake. The food was delicious, with many guests raving about the nut roast. The pub even has its own vegetable patch, showing their commitment to locally sourced ingredients. We stayed in the adjacent cottage and didn't want to leave - it was a perfect blend of cozy and modern with a beautiful fireplace. Emma and the team were fantastic throughout the planning process and on the day. As a special touch, we were driven from our ceremony to the reception in a vintage car owned by Emma's husband, Dave. It was a wonderful experience, and we are grateful to the staff for helping make our day even more special."

"This time I only popped in for a drink after work. However, a couple of weeks before we popped in for dinner. Although the beers are good I am afraid the very young staff were doing their jobs and no more. The family next to us had food missing were not happy. Having been here previously always had fantastic food this visit was really disappointing. The place was closed by 9!!! Would appear the change of hands has not been a good thing for the food here."

"Extremely busy on Saturday night.... service was excellent.... food came out quickly.... ribs fell apart and was lush... too much food though.... couldn't face dessert !!! I haven't been there for a couple of years because frankly it had gone right down hill, but, it's vastly improved, especially the salad bar... it was lovely... looking forward to going again"

"we went to a meal yesterday and a few drinks at first place rather quiet, but more the evening went on to them were busy. they are very friendly and helpful, but on certain days or occasions they are also very busy. if they have a birthday, they will be more than happy to put it on and therefore a booking would be highly recommended. the meals themselves are very nice, especially the roast and they can choose the sizes from which we go further there they know us and we know them full 10 for service and happy smile face keeps the hard work and be safe. many thanks once again that they make our evening pleasant and welcoming."

"Was really hungry by the time I hiked into Redruth that hot August afternoon. Walking down the main street, I saw few obvious places to eat, so the Regal came as a welcome sight at the foot of the hill and I dived in. From outside, where a few locals sat drinking at pavement tables in the sun, it appears to be a restaurant combined with a cinema, which is unusual. Inside, COVID measures were in place. I obeyed the sign saying wait to be seated, but the guys behind the counter waved me to sit where I liked. Joint wasn't too busy. I found a two-seat table looking out at the street and was soon served a pint of Amstel by a friendly and careful but hesitant young man--perhaps still learning the ropes? (I had two drinks overall, but he left one off the bill, which I had to remind him of, bless him. The serving protocol of staff here is to bring food and drinks on a tray which you then remove yourself. I treated myself to an excellent feast. Main course was New York Chicken, with tasty bacon; decent, medium-chunk, square-cut chips; a rich, pink-coloured slaw; and fresh red-lettuce salad. Very satisfying. Followed by cookie dough and ice cream. Lovely ice cream. Never had cookie dough before--bit sweet for me, but worth the experiment. Chicken dish was priced at about £11.00 and the dessert £5.00; but I had a great bargain thanks to the Eat Out to Help Out discount! I'd call the Regal more of a cafe bar than a restaurant. My sort of place: easygoing, unpretentious, relaxing, and serving good food in decent-sized portions."
