"We came with our friend on Saturday night around 7pm, my husband ordered the gammon which was well presented, I ordered the hunters chicken very disappointed, the chicken was so dry underneath I couldn’t cut through it so had to tear the top of it to eat, it had obviously been re-heated, the peas were cold. Our friend chose chicken and pancetta pie, which was nice but the roasted vegetables especially the parsnip was completely uncooked. We showed the member of staff the food, after glaring at us briefly offered us a complimentary dessert, we all chose one, which was going to be delivered within 5 minutes, which didn’t happen so after 15 minutes I asked her again where it was, she said they are just doing it now, we waited a few more minutes, how long does it take to slice a cheesecake? We left now ,having been subjected to a dreadful experience in our local pub, without the dessert. The pub itself looks really presentable, but the staff needed to be managed."

David is awesome! He goes out of his way to make us feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. David is always smiling, chatty but never stood still...puts the young uns to shame with his work ethic!

I feel the Farmhouse has vastly improved within the last 12 months. The food and entertainment is very good. The staff are very welcoming. One of the staff called Dave goes above and beyond for us everytime we visit. Very pleased that The Farmhouse is my local.

I have eaten here before and had the carvery with 3 meats which was good. But on my last visit I had a steak pie never again absolutely rubbish. Pastry was hard, and the filling was small portions and looked like dogmeat. But looking at the other courses, they looked good. So avoid the pie

The food was faultless, the kids meals for their prices were generous portions and the children loved their meals (both can be fussy) Only complaint i have is that i didn't order the steak and venison pie my wife did, that pie was beyond tasty and the mash it come with was out scrumptious. Unfortunalty it wasn't all 5* they seemed under staffed and clearly forgot our kids desserts as i had to go up and ask 20 minutes after they brought out the adult puddings and was told it was coming straight out, i then had to ask the waiter 10 minutes later if it was coming and when it did come as tasty as the kids said it was, it looked very rushed and thrown together.

The farmhouse, it's was ok place nothing special. I found the menu a little limited for me as a good few meals were cooked in red wine. But they had my standard scampi and chips that I get to compare with all other pub, reviews. First of all, the barman messed up my order and forgot to serve with sweet potato chips. Instead, it came with normal chips, then also forgot my bread and butter. It's not a good start when doing a review on the place. Then it was ok food, nothing special. Nor was it bad, just a total balls up by the waiter. I would hate to think if it was busy. It was late evening and quiet when I went. Maybe for good reason, it was quiet, but who knows. I probably not go back, as n...

"Attended a family wedding here recently. The restaurant, the location and the facilities were top notch, I think you would have to work hard to improve on what they have achieved here. However, the bar staff in the first floor function suite leave much to be desired ! Their attitude and reaction to the wedding guests during the wedding reception and evening event should definatly be improved ! It began with the sullen faces of the waiting staff during the reception , most should learn how to smile only one lady waitress blonde hair new starter was polite and smiled give her a job in staff training We asked for a bread roll during lunch, to be told, only for guests who have ordered soup ! Eventually after asking again they brought two over for the brides father... The evening event was a challenge when we struggled to understand why the part bottles of wine had disappeared from the table, when most of the guests were drinking spirits and beer etc. The penny , or should I say the C £17,000 dropped when the waitresses were removing full glasses of drinks from the table without checking! When challenged , the nonchalant response was to place the drinks back on the table and march off like petulant teenager! Our dismay was amplified the following day during a conversation with the restaurant manager told us , that 's what we do, If you need to keep your opened bottles of wine on the table you need to let us know , otherwise they will be removed! oh, so the wine is cleared along with the newly poured drinks too then? I don 't think we, or anyone else we know have ever been to a restaurant and even thought to tell the waiting staff not to take the half bottles of wine away before they have been emptied ? This usual practice was not discussed when we booked ! A cynic could suspect they re sell the newly recovered wine by the glass. This said, the manager did compensate with two bottles of the brides choice , so thanks for recognising the issue. But please consider NOT removing part bottles etc without checking in the first place."
