Lovely old pub made up of lots of little rooms with large main bar

Great home cooked food at reasonable prices. Very friendly bar staff, who let us borrow his darts.

We tried a swift drink in here when visiting Powerdham Castle which seemed popular with the locals. It seemed a very old original building in a quaint setting.

We stopped by for a couple of drinks on our way to a restaurant and stumbled upon a charming pub with a pleasant courtyard, great beer, and welcoming locals. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

I have been to The Dolphin Inn several times now and the staff are always very friendly and welcoming.There are homemade traditional pies and roasts offered on Sundays, and bar snacks during the week. I had forgotten my scarf and Sam had very kindly looked after it for me. I wish them a very happy and successful 2020! Voir le carte

Popped in for a drink with friends We loved the cosy old fashioned atmosphere and warm welcome. The pub has a wonderful atmosphere, with different rooms, resembling the old layout of lounge public bar and snug but without the dark smelly overtones of old. The Doombar ale was well kept and the staff were friendly and pleasant. Lots of food advertised but we didn't have time to sample any. Will visit again

We were staying close by and stopped in for a refreshing drink after a long drive. Sam and David were very welcoming, quickly preparing some hot snacks for us and making sure our drinks were always topped up. We didn't have a chance to try the Sunday roast that Sam was preparing, but maybe next time. The pub is dog-friendly and has a friendly atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for both people and their furry friends.

Visiting from Wales popped in to The Dolphin Inn on the way to an event at the Victory Hall. The layout atmosphere is very traditional makes a very pleasant change from more modern open plan type pub layouts. Although the pub wasn't busy for a Saturday night there were a few locals drinking by the bar they were very friendly entertained a little banter around the rugby games going on that day. Cannot say that we experienced the negative atmosphere portrayed by other reviewers but perhaps we are a little thicker skinned do not mind a few choice words here there. But each to their own we would not hesitate to pop in for a drink again should we be in the area. Voir le carte
