"I am a great fan of the Dining Room, but I am a little like a London bus: I don't (or rather can't) visit for weeks on end and then need to book three days in a row. That's what it has been like recently, and each time has been excellent from entertaining guests for a three course dinner to snatching a single course lunch with a friend. Each time the food has been excellent, as has the service. The Dining Room remains my restaurant of choice in Sherborne."

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. It never fails to please and the service was great; almost as good as the food which was delicious.

We are on holiday in Sherborne and booked to go to the Restaurant. It was very quiet on a Tuesday and we were told that a dish we ordered was not fit to be served as the freezer had gone off. The food was ok but uninteresting. The dessert looked as if it had been just put in a dish , no trimmings. Couldn't tell if there were vegetables in a vegetarian risotto. Voir le carte

I am unable to provide a complete review of this restaurant as my party was unable to dine there due to the establishment being closed. Unfortunately, the website did not indicate that they were closed on Mondays and there were signs around town advertising their daily hours. Despite having a confirmed booking through OpenTable for Monday, November 20th, we were met with a total disaster.

I have visited The Dining Room many times before, although not recently due to being busy or away. When looking for a nearby restaurant for dinner with a friend who is not very mobile, The Dining Room was the obvious choice since it is only about 200 yards away. I wondered if the restaurant would still uphold its standards over the summer, and the answer was definitely yes. Grant, you have an excellent staff. Well done.
