The Design Museum Kitchen

I had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The food was good and fairly priced. The service started off a bit rough but got better, and in the end, I had a very pleasant dining experience.

Not much to see if you haven't booked an specific exhibition. I wouldn't go if you haven't got a ticket for a special occasion. Funny enough the shop was the most entertaining thing rather than the actual museum

One of my favourite museums in London. Always a lot of great exhibitions going on that are also child friendly and child interactive. Their latest exhibition on the design of football is a must go for any football lover! The staff were very nice and supportive when buying tickets. Highly recommend visiting

The building it self is very beautiful and it is a nice place to kill a couple of hours with a nice gift shop and cafeteria. The free exhibition is on basic concepts of design and could be very informative for children and teenagers as an adult with art degree there was nothing new for me. I would recommend it to families.

This restaurant is a good option if you are already in the museum, but it may not be worth making a special trip for. The service was friendly but not very professional. Our first course arrived at the same time as our main courses. My husband was never offered a second glass of wine, so I gave him mine since my beer was served at the same time as our appetizers. We purchased tickets to the exhibit called Football: Designing the game within the Design Museum (on the ground level). The two floors above are free to the public. There is another paid exhibit one floor below. Unless you are a super serious football fan, I wouldn’t pay for that exhibit and just go to the free floors. I took my husband to the football exhibit. Right when we walked in it was super crowded with a long line winding around exhibit to read. The line barely moved and I could tell my impatient husband thought I made a mistake buying then tickets plus it was very warm in there. This is an excellent museum that covers how the things we use were designed, and the evolution in the design of items from early versions to the present day. It was great to see some of the old tech from our past! The building itself is a work of art once you are inside. It took us around 1.5-2 hours to make our way around. It's mostly on one floor and not that large but there is a lot to see. The exhibits have a fair amount of text associated with them. So I would not say this is the best place for very young children.
