"my first visit to the castle for 50 years. Previously it went on a Sunday morning of greenford with my grandfather. in this time other pubs were available, especially the king’s head, but we preferred that the castle as a...main train it wasn’t a tourist attraction. one would expect to change after half a century, but the outer seems not to have changed, this is a very impressive building, quite large. in the inner was not as I remembered, but I suspect that this is mainly due to me, as the bar itself seems quite original as the inside walls. the bar is located in the room in which they leave the street, a small part is partly distributed by an obviously faux old style wooden divider toilets are at the end of this room a door leading to a large dining room. right, when entering from the street, is a space called the clock room, the wallpaper contains various old ears. the floors are wood, pictures of the opposite in the past at the walls. all in all very cozy feeling. very busy even for a weekday. the bardame was very busy, but attentive. as fuller’s pub they get their ales, but there are also guests ales lagators. we only thought of a pint so that can not comment to eat /menu. dog-friendly. super clean toilets. they enjoy our visit beautifully to see how the old place is still flowering not ruined in the process."

Mainly ales but there are few craft beer taps. Great food serving in dedicated dining area. There is nice garden area up the hill too.

The staff make the place, so friendly, dog friendly and food is also fabulous. Such a relaxing night out after so many lock downs. Big thank you to Amy who went above and beyond. 5 star plus

My first pub experience in England. Stopped here on a cold and windy afternoon for a quick drink with family. We loved the charming historic decor, lovely bar and interesting beer choices, and a kind lady bartender. The only disappointment was the fact, that no...hot alcoholic drinks such as mulled wine or a hot toddy were available to warm us up. Parking is a challenge as well as walking up the hill. We booked a table outside for dinner. Great setting for a pub plus it's a nice place inside and out in the garden. On arrival, we were advised to follow the one way system to our table. Staff were friendly, efficient and followed most Covid...protocols. Drinks massively overpriced. Over £6 for a pint of Amstel/Peroni is shocking even in Central London so am loathed to pay this in Harrow. We ordered just one drink but would have probably had more if the prices were more reasonable. Food was also overpriced for what came out. Burger was nice but at £14

sat with a group of workmates and found it a mixed experience. the pub itself is great with an excellent selection of well kept beers and guarantees 4.* that eating was not so good and earned 2.* people near me had the fun. starter they found well. but my chicken liver parfait less well a cold plate of pate without much taste or texture. I had a mischeap that didn't work and beat with the very acidic salsa that came with him. the hamburgers looked pretty small and poor. some people had fish and chips, the poor were some left fish uneaten and the triple fried chips were undercooked in edible and burned on the outside. puddings were all good.

Well worth the pleasant fifteen minute walk from Harrow-on-the-Hill station, passing by the famous public school buildings, the Castle is a traditional, unspoilt pub set in a quiet side street. The multi-roomed layout remains unaltered for many decades and there is a very homely feel...about the whole place, particularly the room to the right which features wallpaper, a genuine old fireplace plus an interesting collection of antique clocks. A Fullers owned pub, most of the ales are Fullers-related but (remembering the brewery and the pub company are separately owned now) there is scope for guest ales and at the time of my visit there was a very appealing offering from Welsh brewery, Tiny Reb... we have booked for a lunchtime of 4 o'clock, received a telephone call of 15 o'clock to say that roasted had expired. we decided to go too late to book 6 of us elsewhere. at the order a large percentage of the remaining menu was also not available....2 of us ordered sirloin steak, which did not get the cut we received. steak was just a mass of fat and bone. three times boiled chips were not defo! looks like they had baked kartoffels. the shader of hummus, tzatziki etc. was £16 but was served in a large bowl with a puppy game of every dip, oliven, halloumi and a pitta brot. a little pitiful. we ordered a dish of bratkartoffeln, which were boiled three times (in contrast to the chips.! and cou...

My wife was due to have a business meeting with a colleague at the Castle the following week and wanted to scout out' the venue beforehand so I rang mid afternoon on a Friday for a booking for 6:30 that evening. It took about 5...minutes of umming and ahring before being told their was only a table left in the bar area, nothing in the dining room'. After consultation with my wife I agreed and booked. On arrival I was told we were eating in the dining room,. When we went in it was less than half full, when we left it was less than half full. Service was slow, 45 minutes or so from arrival until the meal arrived. My wife chose the fried Aubergine and chive mashed potatoes which she was mostl s...
