"I had high expectations for this restaurant based on the positive reviews I had heard, but I don't think I will be returning unless there are major changes in the service. The first waiter seemed in a rush, trying to take our food order before even asking about drinks. It was a bit strange considering the restaurant was not busy. When the starters arrived, there was confusion among the staff about which table they were for. The main courses were brought out while we were still eating our starters, and the server didn't even know what dish he was holding. The lack of attention to detail and communication was disappointing. The food was good, but the service really let it down. Staff were not very attentive or polite, as we were not even acknowledged when we left."

"I had a great experience during happy hour at the bar. I highly recommend trying the clams, empanadas, and olives. The Spanish wines were delicious. Be sure to order the paella upon arrival, even though it takes 45 minutes to prepare, it is definitely worth the wait. The yuca cake was outstanding. However, I did not enjoy the almond flan as it was too gritty for my taste."

"We had been meaning to visit this place for some time, having had it recommended to us as a must do. We weren't disappointed! We had our dog with us so sadly we weren't able to sit in the back room where the spectacular coastal views are. Nevertheless we were quite happy with our allocated table in the front window. We loved the Art Deco features and the ambience. We ordered nachos to share, which arrived with guacamole, salsa and sour cream dips. The nachos were warm and delicious. I found several good vegetarian options and chose the black dhal with cauliflower and steamed rice. My husband had the sticky beef. Both our meals arrived promptly and also piping hot. Very tasty and no complaints with the presentation or the flavour. Service was attentive and friendly, and our doggie got lots of fuss from staff and customers alike. We definitely plan to return when our doggie is back with our daughter so that we can sample those views and choose another tasty option from the menu."

"The last time I ordered, I got lasagna while my wife got macaroni and cheese. I found the macaroni to be much more delicious than the lasagna, so this time I decided to order two macaroni and cheese dishes. Unfortunately, the quality was not good at all. The macaroni had no taste and cost 7 pounds each. My mother can make much better macaroni for only 2 pounds per serving. To make matters worse, the chips we received were disappointing as well. Overall, I was not impressed with the food we got from the restaurant."

"I strongly recommend avoiding The Albany for any events or gatherings. My family was planning an 80th birthday party for my nana and had booked the venue months in advance. However, to our surprise, the venue double booked our function room with a 21st party. We were moved to a cramped restaurant upstairs without any communication or permission. The staff even lied about informing my aunt of the change. The events manager showed no concern and was rude when confronted. This level of unprofessionalism and disrespect towards paying customers is unacceptable. I urge anyone considering booking an event to find another venue that can be trusted to make your special day a priority."
