"recently traveled my partner and I after grantchester uk to visit friends and stayed in the blue ball inn. fans of masterpiece will know that grantchester is the setting for the PBS series of the same name. a beautiful village, just a walk over the meadows of the city cambridge, in grantchester you can enjoy the architectural beauty of the colleges of the cambridge university, visit the muses, and tour to their hearts 's joy, but back every night to a local pub. the blue ball has a traditional pub in the ground floor and has a beer garden on the back with fairy-lights and comfortable sitting opportunities, including the shed with books and cricket photos, they should stay out of the rain or during an hour or two in the relaxation. in the upper floor are three bedrooms with their own bathroom and a beautiful living room, from which they can overlook the meadows to the river. the rooms have all modern amenities, including Wi-Fi, new and very comfortable beds and excellent showers. the rooms are well soundproofed. on Thursday our visit organized the pub live music (supermusic! . we went to bed before the pub closed at 23:00 clock, and did not hear anything in our room of festivities below. Every morning we were served, what honestly was the best breakfast we ever had. fresh house baked brot, a sortiment of artisan cheese and meat, seasonal fruits, Greek yogurt and French coffee were the causes of continental breakfast. that was so good that we never tried the complete breakfast, but this is definitiw on the list for our next visit. there is a very nice restaurant in Grantchester (the rupert brooke as well as great food that can be found both in red lion and in the green man pubs. but don't forget to eat a night in the blue ball, because her evening fare is fabulous! the owners of the inn are charming and they can count on making new friends among the regular customers of the pubs. I can't recommend the blue ball very much. the best breakfast experience we've ever had! just don't book it for years in advance, because we count to stay there soon!"

Eventually, there was music in the pub, it was totally awesome. We've slept great and had a good breakfast. You're near cambridge, fine place.

a very beautiful pub with beautiful outside seats. very friendly staff and eating was delicious. not a large selection on the menu, but we really enjoyed our chosen dish. will definitely be back to visit.

really fab place. overnight in a beautiful newly renovated room in the upper floor. eating was nice and so inviting place to stay. beautiful walks in cambridge and this is a great place to relax. in any case be back.

Great place to stop after a good trip around the village. Friendly staff, excellent food, decently priced and well kept beer. Unobtrusive music in background, very pleasant environment. A bit like pubs used to be. Well worth a visit. Voir le carte

here for a quick bite to eat before they go to cambridge for the theater. we were welcome, the place felt comfortable, exactly what we wanted. the sausage beans-casrole was hearty and delicious. would have liked to stop for the evening. we're coming back. Thank you.

The best pub in Grantchester, no question. Great food at a great price, with very friendly staff and a good selection of drinks. You can't book ahead but I've never had a problem getting a table. Would particularly recommend the garden out back in summer time. Definitely a firm favourite!

Really lovely food and lovely setting. Only 4 stars as my boyfriend asked for our waterbottles to be refilled as we were leaving (for a walk back to Cambridge) and the bar tender refused. Potentially because there had been a change over of staff from those who took our order, but regardless it would have taken 2 minutes and it was a very warm day to be walking without water. My husband and I visited and stayed two nights, after not having been here since we were students. It is still the warm, friendly place it always has been but has also improved dramatically. There is a beautiful pub garden, gorgeous menu and the rooms are cosy, modern, comfortable and have everything you need. Our hosts were gracious and welcoming and we are looking forward to staying again soon. Many thanks Toby and Angela.

wow, what a sound! well located and totally beautiful. it is not her average gastro-pub, far from it, eating is nice and cooked home, but almost like they are just for a meal. there are no nudes of choice, but it feels really special. the rooms are fabulous, yes, it's new, but it's done right. the upper floor seating room for guests (especially if they and family/friends stay the only one) is perfect. it felt like we rented a flat with someone to cook everything. great!
