"The pub has a countryside feel, thanks to the spacious lawn and garden in front, which features a lovely outdoor seating area. Inside, it is both spacious and beautifully designed, with the renovation making great use of the original building structure. The menu is similar to that of a JD Wetherspoon pub, though without the club deals. Food prices are slightly higher—though just a bit—but my mixed grill was also tastier than what you might typically find at a Wetherspoon. At the center of the two-story establishment is a large bar reminiscent of JDW, offering a full range of alcoholic beverages, although some beers were unavailable during my visit. The staff were friendly, although there were moments of confusion; for instance, there was some debate about whether the mixed grill was eligible for the £1 pint upgrade, which was only applicable for steak dishes. In the end, I wasn’t too disappointed since those options were limited to Carling and Fosters (I’d prefer to avoid the latter, to be honest!). My food arrived within about 15 minutes, and everything was well-prepared with good quality steak, chicken breast, and gammon. Due to the earlier confusion, they offered me an extra egg for my grill, but it was already quite filling without it. However, they did forget the sausage that was supposed to come with the mixed grill. Overall, I would recommend this pub to visitors of Salisbury for its pleasant ambiance, attractive decor, and reasonably priced, decent food."

This is a fantastic pub with well-spaced tables, and the upstairs area is especially nice. There are TVs around for watching sports, but they don't interfere with the overall vibe. I didn't find anything particularly exceptional about this place, apart from the impressive architecture. The interior felt a bit cold and lacking in warmth. The staff were friendly, but I wasn't very impressed with my veggie burger. While a sweet potato, mozzarella, and basil burger sounds delightful, the reality was overly oily. When we arrived, there was no one in the kitchen, which led to a delay in placing our order, and my order was initially incorrect. This is a Greene King pub, so they only offer their IPA and Abbot on cask. However, the Yardbird pale they usually have on tap is decent.
