"My girlfriend and I have visited the Bell Inn twice this week. We were staying in the village looking after family pets so decided to visit for dinner. We booked a table on both occasions, (last night was a bit last minute) but the place is spotless, covid check in very easy, made to feel welcome too. The food and drink were lovely, and reasonably priced. The pub has had a bit of an up and down reputation over the years, but despite the tough times due to lockdowns etc, the guys who run it now have done a fantastic job making it the friendly welcoming local pub that it should be. Hope to come back at some point in the not too distant future. Thank you."

We had enjoyed a lovely walk along the canal nearby, and decided to visit here for food afterwards. However, by the time we drove round, we were told that they didn’t serve food or coffee even. Very gutted not good for customers!

Passing through and looking for something to eat we were met by a very personable lady at The Bell Inn who found us a table and served up the most delicious Sunday roast. No less than than 5 vegetable’s excluding the roasties. Would highly recommend. Best of luck to Carols kitchen Voir le carte

We were holidaying on a narrow boat and walked up to the Bell inn, but being a Sunday they had stopped serving food, but the landlady said we could order in take away and we could eat it in the pub, she even heated up plates and provided spoons and forks. Fabulous service, love local people and a good choice of drinks

As a village resident, our local pub is better than it has been for at least 20 years! Sean Dan have transformed the place, redecorated, and greatly improved the beer garden. Most importantly, they are friendly and welcoming, and the food is very good with generous portions. A group of walkers from Market Harborough were impressed with the excellent lunch.

On an unplanned stop, we thought we would give the bell inn a try, we was vastly impressed, the restaurant was nice, for a pub, the menu was limited with the one veg meal. But wow was I impressed with the food, was top stuff. NO lets take it out of the freezer, it was properly cooked, interesting, and very tasty, Must go again, just hope you have the same Chef. Fantastic experience! My daughter and I visited this restaurant, and the owner and waitstaff were incredibly friendly to us. We were camping in the area, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was very welcoming and everyone was so chatty. Definitely recommend stopping by, no matter where you're from. It was my daughter's first time at a pub, and now she wants to go every night. I don't think I can make that happen, though!

The pub from the outside looked like it needed some attention appearing very run down but internally we really liked it. Homely, welcoming and Maggie the dog sat by the television in old position, this pub has got bags of potential... My kind of pub but sadly they were not serving food. We ended up having some drinks and a packet of crisps instead. They have a games room with a pool table and a couple of televisions and a nice garden and all this pub needs is an outdoor lick of paint. We enjoyed our visit. Visited 23rd March 2024

"I visited my daughter and son-in-law last week and on my request they had booked a table for us on black horse on Saturday night at 1 o'clock. we arrived shortly before the pm and all four of us stood in the bar where two were served. it wasn't busy. no one told us anything until the bar was clear and then one of the ladies looked at me and I said we booked a table in my name of my daughter and she saw the bookings and said oh yes, we had table assigned and pointed into another room. there was no greeting no smiling, so we met our way to the table and sat there. there were no menus on the table, so I stood up to find some and someone only made their way from the other room in the direction of our table. we ordered drinks that were in themselves a task, as they had no free or dietary limmonade, so I had to go to the end for a gin with slimline tonic. then we ordered four different meal times. I ordered a vegetarian curry in naanbrot and when it finally came, I was so disappointed because the naanbrot was burned and the curry was cold on the outside, so I asked them to take it back. the waitress asked if I wanted to order something else and I went back. my daughter then shared some of her meals with me, who were chicken pupils. they were coated in a teig that was extremely fat. the menu does not seem to come out of any meal with fresh vegetables, everything seemed to come with chips and draughts, even the Steak-Mahl came only with chips and draughts, no mushrooms, tomatoes, wobble rings or something. I wasn't impressed. for a pub that wants good reviews, I think they have lost the property. the customer service is everything and fresh vegetables is essential. I'm sorry to be the bearer worse, but we won't come back."
