"We ate in this restaurant for the 2 nights we stayed and also for breakfast. The breakfast choice was very good with the ‘Full English’ coming with Gareth’s home made black pudding . There is also a selection of cereals if required. My wife enjoyed the muffin and poached eggs which were cooked to perfection. Breakfast is also open to non residents so if you are meeting friends they can join you. She likes to see a runny yoke but many establishments fail to achieve this. For the evening meals there is also a nice selection for starter, main course and dessert so it is easy to find something you like. There is a wide selection of drinks available from the bar and there is also a good selection of wines. We also noticed they do afternoon teas although 24 hours notice is required and a lunch time menu selection. Staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Would thoroughly recommend eating here and of course it’s a no brainier if you are staying at the hotel. Why would you go anywhere else?!."

"Nice meal, excellent service. The linguini could have been a little Hotter and I didn't need cauliflower in the veg with my delicious bacon, brie and cauliflower pie but apart from that a very tasty meal. Service: 5"

"I always loved this pub, and I said before it's my favorite crowd in suffolk. we wanted to come back since the pub had a change into the owned and I am thrilled to say that it is still my favorite stuff in suffolk. not that I change my mind because new peculiarities have taken over, but sometimes can change bad, in this case change is very good, in the did. the pub still has the same beautiful charm he had and inviting and inviting. the staff was so helpful and attentive. the menu had a refreshing boost (where I loved the menu before, I must say that it had something extra.) so many inviting food choices and I loved that on the net they can decide a smaller size, where they can then press in a pudding and even a starter. it was perfect for my gran, who is not happy to face food. the menus change regularly, everything is completely fresh and with a major focus on homemade. even the mayonnaise was homemade and it was delicious. I ordered the blackburger, a thick, mouthwatering and fulfilling burger, with speck and monterrey jack cheese, served with thick and crispy, but fluffy chips. others in our party had steak, which was asked to be cooked blue, what they did and perfect. the special of the day, that was the pork bell that was beautiful and the meat very tender and a small portion sausage and maic. the food was absolutely delicious, plentiful and beautifully served. I can't believe I waited so long to come back! I loved eating here and the pub before and I love it now. cannot wait for our next visit. previous review below from a visit back in 2016. that must be my favourite in suffolk! it is all they want that a pub is! roaring fire, cozy and welcoming, old and historical, amazing eating and good beer/wine/teach! and they love dogs! it is the type of pub where they can enjoy a fabulous meal and at the end have too many drinks, because they have forgotten the world outside their doors! we'll be back soon!"

"No extra team points for making the dishes look appetising. Fish and chips a handful of chips chucked on a round white school dinner ]plate, the fish was pityfully small in an area where mostly the fish always hangs over both sides of the plate. Sausages and mash Mr Pigglywiggly evidently] were ordered without vegetables but with gravy on the side. There appeared before me a plate complete with broccoli and carrots etc . When I requested that I had ordered WITHOUT vegetables, the reply was Didn't hear you. Fish pie was a bit pathetic also. We were all disappointed with the place with such a nice feel to it upon entering, but leaving a bit miffed that we had wasted and evening on some school dinners, when there is so much choice in the area. Come on buck your ideas up please."

"Don't miss this on a Saturday morning! A wide range of sweet and savoury treats, including the best chocolate cookies I've ever tasted and delicious pain au chocs. There are always new and interesting concoctions made with passion. Get there as early as possible.To the 1 star review below what a mean spirited and unreasonable review. It's a pop up shop which closes when stock is sold out. It isn't a cafe, so if you want an artisan coffee then go elsewhere? It's also only open on a Saturday. If it is open on a Sunday like you say, then all the better for the rest of us."
