"We came as a family for Sunday lunch, atmosphere was great, it was nice and busy which is always a good sign. We were sat in the bar area as the restaurant was full wasn’t an issue just a bit of a tight squeeze for 6 adults. Roast dinner was really tasty, the pork was great and so was the beef. The stuffing good, cauliflower cheese not cheesy at all! The only thing which was disappointing was the trio toast, not good value at all for with just one piece of each meat (you get two pieces on the normal roast) so not worth it in my opinion. The sticky toffee pudding was the absolutely delicious. I would definitely return."

Lovely friendly pub. Fantastic service. Owen and Jamie were so welcome. Made a fantastic cocktail for my friend. 10/10 service.

We enjoyed the food here. The service wasn’t too bad but feel that we could have had some more attention. The decor here is beautiful. Only small but not cramped at all.

Came here on a whim and spoke to Owen on the way in as he was in uniform, really friendly chap! Got to know the bar staff throughout the night out especially Jamie!! Super lovely girl, one of the best pornstars I’ve ever had! Would definitely come again for the company x Voir le carte

We booked a private room to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary with our family, including the grandchildren. We had a wonderful lunch.. the food was delicious and there were lots of choices that were gluten free for me. Nadia looked after us so beautifully, was very attentive and made the occasion even more special. Thank you!

The restaurant at the hotel across the street was closed for a wedding on Saturday, so we walked to the Anchor across the square. Despite not having a reservation, we were warmly welcomed and seated promptly. The food and service were excellent, and we finished off our meal with a delicious Irish coffee. Overall, it was a perfect experience.

Nadia provided excellent service and truly enhanced our dining experience. She deserves a perfect 10/10 rating! We visited for a baby shower and unfortunately experienced slow service with food coming out sporadically. However, we were compensated for the inconvenience. The pork dish I had was fantastic, but the other dishes were just okay. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I may not return. Perhaps on a less busy day, the restaurant would excel. They do have a good dessert menu though! Voir le carte

My family and I came to this restaurant on a whim after visiting my parents in Woburn. They managed to find us a table and we are so thankful they did because the food was amazing! A big shoutout to the chef and kitchen staff for the delicious meals. The bar staff and waitresses were also fantastic, always willing to help with anything we needed. Special thanks to Ian, the Manager, for his happy and helpful attitude. Everyone at The Anchor pub should be proud of the great service they provide. Thank you, Jan Ashby Xxx.

Came here for a work’s Christmas meal, good choice on the menu although I don’t believe in paying extra to upgrade things! Pate was like soup but tasty although I wouldn’t have served it! Had to prompt them on the drink offer that was on when we booked, really they should look at their bookings beforehand! Friendly staff and tasty food, although presentation wasn’t checked at the pass because some desserts looked different to others even though they all were the brownies order. Just tweak little things and it would of been perfect

"Absolutely average restaurant. Dirty bamboo table mats and super dirty windows, kinda sad to look out of them. Impatient service, who under 6 minutes 5 times came back trying to pressure me to take my order. I was confused as I thought it was a restaurant not a fast food place. Silly me who used to live in Japan though the menu is just like there, with pictures. How wrong I was...So getting my phone to have a look at their website, what kinda different that in the restaurant menu card one. When I tried to ask for reconditions, I didn't get any, she just straight away took the last what I asked. The steamed algae was very nice, but my noodle soup was a big surprise, as I have no idea what's roasted (burned) pepper and massive chunks of onions doing there? It's supposed to be sea food, but instead just some burned vegetables scared with frozen octopus, mussels and mini calamari rings poured up with chicken broth. So yeah, kinda disappointing. Drink wise I asked the waitress do they have any tonic water as it isn't listed on the menu card, she looked at me like I am a weirdo. I asked for Roku gin what is my favourite. On the receipt was counted as an extra pound because Japanese. Lol, no comment. Getting the drinks, from other restaurants you get the spirit on the rocks in the glass and front of you they pouring the mixer drink from the mini bottle. Here not, just straight away together as it comes. Oh and don't bother asking without lemon, because you are getting one either way. So Akasaka restaurant did not become my favourite one. Once and last. Easily can be forgotten. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4"
