"Went to The Albion with my partner and his nana as a trip out for her birthday. When we arrived we were given a menu that looked like it had been scrunched into a ball and flattened out then stuck to a board with bluetac. The menu itself was hard to understand. It stated ‘chicken’ for £13.50 but didn’t state what it came with or what was on the chicken. It stated ‘dirty parmo’ but, again, didn’t state what this was. Basically the menu stated one item that will feature on the plate and you had to guess what the rest was unless you wanted to go through the full menu with the waitress. The menu featured approx. 7 meals but I settled for fish and chips. The meal arrived and it was white battered fish that showed black sections of the fish, which I didn’t understand but still attempted to eat it. After a few bites I gave up because it was chewy and tasteless. Soon after one of the 50000 flies zooming around landed on my plate so that added a little special topping to an already hideous dish. When the food was collected my partner kindly said that ‘I think we got a bad fish with this one’ not really expecting anything but just because there was a full fish left on the plate so it would have been awkward if nothing was said. The woman came back from the kitchen and said ‘we’ve had a few fishes go out tonight and they were all fine but we can offer you a free dessert’. This was strange as we were the first people in the restaurant that night (a Friday and they hadn’t been open the previous three days) but I appreciated the offer for the dessert. The dessert came and it was a slab of plain chocolate cake with a flavourless ice cream topped with another fly. When waiting for the bill, a woman asked the waitress for gammon and the woman said ‘yeah I’ll put you one in hun’ which infuriated me because I was given a menu of basically nothing and now they’re taking requests. Won’t be going back, I think the virus has affected this business which is sad but due to the environment I don’t think it’s ready to reopen for several reasons most of which has been stated above."

Just had a fantastic party in the garden at the Albion. Highly recommended! We had a great night with a fabulous Greek menu specially created for us. Kostas is a fantastic host and his team are all so friendly and efficient. All of our guests were impressed with the food and commented on the the beautiful garden setting. And thanks Kostas for the Greek dancing lesson!!!

We stayed at the Albion for one night, after attending a wedding nearby. The owners were extremely attentive yet discreet and allowed us such a flexible check in, which was a huge help. The accommodation is well appointed and extremely clean. We ate in the restaurant on our return which was really good quality. All of the staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Such a lovely touch to be offered freshly picked mint for tea and an invitation to relax in the owners private garden whilst enjoying this before we set off on our journey. The following morning

Ive passed here numerous times on the way to work keep meaning to give it a try, Ive only lived on the darkside of the water (Sunlun) for a couple of years my Mrs always says this was a bit rough. Couldnt be further from the truth. Met immediately by the smiling friendly owner which matched the lovely telephone greeting from his wife/partner earlier when I had booked. A sunny Bank Holiday Monday 7 a BBQ was in the offing in the front garden area, It smelled and looked divine. My Mrs had the BBQ with feta salad and a garlic bread/cheese tomato, I plumped for the belly pork, both were stunning. The owner even insisted we had a look at the glorious huge beer garden at the rear. Superb value for...

We booked to have Sunday Lunch here last week with our extended family. We had looked at the menu online, and thought it covered all bases and was a reasonable price. When we arrived we asked for a menu but was told that there was only Sunday lunch available beef, pork, turkey or vegetarian served with mashed swede, undercooked carrots and strange tasting turnip. Vegetarian turned out to be just vegetables snd mashed potato but we were still charged full price. Deserts were mixed the brownie was so stale and hard it was inedible. When we came to pay we were charged £11.99 each, plus £4.99 for a desert. When we showed them their website offering 2 courses for £10.95 they just shrugged and sai...
