"Probably one of the best Mexican food I have ever had in the UK . Never had it beyond the usual chains so it made for a lovely change . Flavoursome and lot of heart . We then found out that yesterday was to be their last day ever since they were closing down . A combination of Brexit and the cost of living crisis energy bills going up over 5 times made their position untenable . Such a shame cos it would have been a wonderful addition to Henley . This review is probably pointless but know that one of your last ever customers really loved your food . All the best"

"We were visiting the area and this was our local pub. The menu is really nice and got off to a great start with really nice starters and good wine. We both ordered different steaks, and unfortunately both were overcooked. We sent them back with no bother, and to be fair to the staff, they didn't charge us for any of the wine we had that evening to apologise for the mistake. Problem was that the steaks were still over-cooked 2nd time round too, but we didn't say anything. Also worth being aware there didn't seem to be a drinks-only part to this pub, it was just a restaurant inside, so nowhere really to relax pre/post dinner. Young staff members were a bit too keen and needed to listen/slow down a little! So, it was alright, I might give it another go, but with so many other great options in the area i'm not sure I would really!"

"Went here for a Sunday roast with family with high expectations given the menu prices. However, we all left feeling very disappointed and short-changed. Having all ordered the Sunday roast, we were served our plates of meat and vegetables for the table to share. The vegetables that we were served consisted of only 5 roast potatoes to be shared between the 4 of us, a small amount of cauliflower cheese, a few roasted root vegetables, and a small bowl of cabbage. I could maybe understand if the quality was very high. However, the 5 potatoes were deep-fat fried, and the rest of the food was below average. For over £25 per portion, we all felt very short-changed and left feeling we would have had a far better roast at a Toby Carvery. We have contacted them about this, and they accepted the service we received wasn't good enough, however, they don't seem interested in making amends, as they only offered a 10% discount for a future visit after we paid over £128 for 4 roast dinners and 4 soft drinks. Very disappointing experience."

"I was part of a large group of runners and walkers who had lunch at this restaurant after our exercise. The restaurant is a typical English country pub, tucked away from the road but easy to find with signs, and with a large garden for outdoor dining. The interior is just as charming. Since we were a big group, we had all pre-ordered our meals. I opted for the 'vintage' offer, which included a smaller main course of chicken bacon Caesar salad and a reduced size dessert of chocolate brownie with ice cream for a fixed price, which was a great deal. We ordered our drinks and settled our bills at the bar, and then our food was quickly and efficiently brought outside to us. It was a lovely day, made even better by the good weather and delicious food."

"Had not visited for a while but excellent food. Seated quickly by a very pleasant young lady, drinks order taken and quickly served. The special' pan fried sea bream looked very appetizing and substantial portion....daughter scoffed the lot; my wife had the half lobster which...she said was very good and tasty and I had the fish and chips...always a good test....batter very good (perhaps fish portion could have been larger) but good and hot with chips and good tartare sauce. All three of us no need to cook an evening meal. Friendly and pleasant staff who were attentive asking during the meal if everything OK and thanked us for coming when bill time came. Not the cheapest pub around but great value for money....which is what you want. We shall return Try it out for yourself if you live in the Henley, Sonning Common area and support a good pub."
