It gave me food poisoning, sweet and sour pork balls weren’t cooked properly , never ever order this guys I’m warning you!

we ordered four meals. three were fit, but the salt and pfefferschod had really hard teig and the tinted fish was like leather strips. very disappointing.

it has been overtaken for over 30 years, unfortunately every ding has changed, not the same as it used to be not bad, but no touch of original owners, wonderful tasting has gone to eat with the original owners.

our natives go to China when we have it. insecure about these reviews, as we are very picky when it comes to our food, how to eat out often, but never really had a problem here. really good eating after my opinion.

Lovely quality food all batters crispy and light and plenty of veg in all dishes. Just very spicy omg, mouth on fire from the crispy chillie beef and kung po prawn. Will definitely be ordering again due to the quick service and good value...but would recommend asking for a little less spice.

Very sad to see recent poor reviews for Sunlight which has been my ‘go to’ for the last 35 years! I’ve been 3 times over the last 3 months and it has been good each time. I miss the lovely lady who fronted it for...so many years but haven’t seen the rudeness commented on. I always collect so haven’t had an issue with that. I will continue to go until (I hope it doesn’t happen) I have a bad experience.

sun light was closed for a dae and I waited eagerly for the reopening as I and other family members had been regular in the last 20 years and enjoyed the great eating they cooked. imagine my extreme disappointment when I found that it is new owners and the standard of their cooking is abysmal as well as with various ingredients in comparison to before. I gave up buying Chinese in hertford, as I couldn't find anyone as good as the old sunlight, fortunately someone told me about a place I never heard of, as it is from the city center and eating is great (sadly not open at midday)

After two hours of waiting I rang to see where my order was, the man on the phone answered and said il go see, he left the phone on the side and I heard him ask ‘where’s this order?’ To which he got a reply...of ‘ah we forgot it, just tell her we cancelled it an hour and a half ago’ (heard every work clearly) He came back to the phone and told me this word for word, I said I’ve just heard your conversation do not lie to me. He continued to lie and say they cancelled but I have no email no phone call to say this. He lied to me and was super rude. It’s absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. This place has gone down hill big time from the previous owners. Do not buy from here!

I have been getting takeaway food from Sunlight for 40 years and until tonight have never had anything other than excellent service and food. My wife and I shielded for 4 months since March and only recently felt confident enough to order takeaway. Sunlight was...the obvious choice and tonight was the night, especially as they now deliver. I knew they had changed hands since we were last there but was not expecting standards to have fallen so far. Rice was tasteless and the chow mien gloopy.
