"What a discovery! We'll be back for sure. The place was fresh and clean, even the toilets were modern and sparkling. Although Steve told us that he had recently pared a few things off the menu, it had many items listed that made me want to make a return visit, especially the Greek dishes. Steve was very welcoming, and our fish dishes (sea bass and tuna) were delicious. Highly recommended. We will definitely be using his loyalty card."

20 minute wait for takeaway fish and chips. Nightmare, 4 staff on and I could have gone Tesco and made it myself quicker.

Steves is our local chippy but we feel very lucky it is as food is always great quality and the staff are friendly and helpful

not the best certainly in derby chips were horrible so was the fish sausages were cold .if u wanted other things fried good choice of pies and other items

Had to wait about 10mins to be served . Only to be told no potato fritters . Had a cone of chips instead , which was good value for my money . Staff where pleasant

Been here a few times .. the food is ok BUT the staff well that's another thing !!! absolutely disgusting the boss wants to sort them out and get rid of them !! we will not be going again just because of the crap service !!

Visited here on and off for the last thirty years. The food is great but the staff have always left a bad taste in the mouth. They’ve always been consistently miserable and rude. Even in front of the boss. I don’t understand it, surely greeting customers with a friendly smile and pleasant demeanour are paramount when working with the public?

Not only is it a takeaway, its a cafe! Fish and chips are always perfect and the sides are fresh and hot. Since most people probably go on about the hot food and main courses, the café 's range of deserts is worth a mention. Lots of choices, available in vegan and Slimming World friendly options made by the staff and members of the community. Never once been disappointed with our visits.

I visited Steve’s Fish Bar on 19th March at 18:40. I come here often for chips but tonight made me question returning. The way I was spoken to by the staff member taking orders was disgusting. She was wearing glasses and looked aged 60s. Everyone remembers their experience when visiting places and sure as hell influences their decision to go there again. I think they need to teach their staff some customer service skills.
