Stein's Diner - Carte

Whether meeting friends for a meal or waiting for the movie to start in the Votiv Kino next door, this café offers food & drink in a relaxed atmosphere.

I first had lunch here, Apple juice with a good baked egg sandwich, in the sun. Quick, professional staff, tasty food, fair prices. Later I came back for a nice beer which was very good as well.

I had lunch here with a friend. Staff was friendly and had no problem speaking English to us (despite our attempts at answering in German). We had to wait quite a bit, but that was due to the many people dining at the place. I would certainly return. Voir le carte

Excellent situated very close to the Parliament, Cityhall, Volkspark and other atractions). Pretty good food, really good caffe. Not very expensive, not cheap let s say moderate. Waiters are nice and kind, but the service are a little bit slower or, maybe, I dont have enough patience).

We had a fantastic meal The Omelette with the selection of from Seven items, I had the smoked salmon with the dill cream cheese on toast with tomatoes cucumber and olives together with orange juice yogurt and fruit the Coffee Was also great . These service was very friendly and not hurried. 32 Euro

The service is so confused, and slow.The food is "ok" but nothing more. If you want some Viennese food this is a place i wouldn't recommend to anyone, the simple snacks are a little better. The desserts all contain creme and are almost the same dish. Such an unpassioned kitchen over all. I wouldn't go here for lunch again, maybe to drink a quick coffee, but quick is relative since I waited for my coffee longer than it took to make and bring the dessert. It's a Middle Class Ok Café. We liked the atmosphere of this cafe - situated on a busy road so you can sit and enjoy watching the world of Vienna going by. The place serves a range of good breakfast items and food and drinks throughout the day and evening including casual meals and full dinners. The coffee and juices are lovely. It gets extremely busy but we got served relatively speedily. We wished they had more innovative vegetarian dishes but it is possible to get vegetarian meals here. Prices are 'average' for a cafe of this kind on a main road near the centre of the city.

We were in a hotel close to this cafe and when we saw it from outside it looked really good. Positive elements: they have the english menu, the quality of the food is really good, the position is perfect (you can see Votivkirche in front of you during your meal), the price is not so expensive even if the position is wonderful.Negative element: the service (at least according to our experience) is really bad. We talked with a member of the staff only 10 minutes after we arrived (there were less then 10 people) and after they gave us the english menu we had to wait other 10mn to order something. One of the staff wasn't able to understand simple english words. Good food but the service was too...

I have been going to Café Stein for years, recently less often. The food is generally decent to good, portions are fairly big and prices fair. (Although, having said that, don't order the ham & eggs, they are super dry and not very tasty.) They claim to have a separate smoker's section which in principle they do: it is separated from the non-smokers by means of a glass wall with a glass door. This works fine until the lunch crowd hits the café and waiters need to go in and out of the smokers' section. Despite asking to have the door closed several times it kept being open. Reason? Well, they were so busy and had to run in and out all the time so they couldn't possibly be expected to open and... Voir le carte
