"Went there with my family at lunch time on a sunday. There weren't really a lot of people there, and we were just looking for a place to get some quick lunch and they had a lot of different stuff to choose from. It seemed reasonably priced. We were seated quickly. It took quite a long time before the waiter finally came to take our order and we had to signal him quite a lot of times to get his attention. We were told that it would be around 15 minutes for the food to arrive, but was rather like half an hour. I ordered a salad that was definitely not worth the money. Sounded really good on the menu, but when it finally arrived it looked rather messy. Basically it was just a few lettuce leafs, around 4 olives and a very tiny portion of lazely spread goat cheese. Not very nice and definitely not worth 9 euros! The waiter asked if we wanted bread with the salads. We were 4 people who ordered salads and got one and a half slice of bread to share between us. When we asked for some more bread it took around 15 minutes for the waiter to bring us this and it arrived after we asked for the bill. When we wanted to pay it took ages once again to get the waiters attention. I feel like this restaurant could really have potential but that their good location have made them lazy because they know that people will come in anyway. Such a shame. Would definitely find another place next time."

This place is located on the front of Hamburg harbour. I found the food alright, however the service was quick.

Nice place to go ... Nice to have the possibility of fish or meat... No complications or something extraordinary. Everything ok

Waitress looked angry. Ordered food. A burger. Got a plain premaid beef with toasted bread. Beer tasted home made. Never again. School serves better food.

The food is moderate in this place, but the most disappointing part is the service and the waiters. Totally not interested, non-flexible, really rude. DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE!!! THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WANT SOMETHING BACK FOR YOUR MONEY!!!

Typically a tourist restaurant where they dont care about: service, taste and price. Our check did not match what we ordered (intentially) and the quality of our food was below average. Look a little further and go for a smaller and friendlier place.

We went in for a schnitzel and got extactly that. The food itself was average, good and tasty but nothing to get too excited about. However, the staff were friendly and enjoyed helping. It's hard to find a nice relaxed spot along the reeperbahn but this place managed to give us a good break whilst heading back into the city away from the peir. Voir le carte

We quickly got a table, sat down and ordered drinks and food. The food got here after 3 minutes. That was the good part. We didn't get the right food, all the sauces was the same mix added either peppers or mushrooms. The wrong food tasted ok, but the service was horrible, and the huge restaurant right on Reeperbahn didn't accept any credit cards. Not really a place to come back!

BAD QUALITY!!! DON'T GO THEREwe had the advice from the waiter for a "Combo coffee+Pie" as advertise outside for Only: 3€90 like a "tourist trap"The coffee was a type of a bad filter coffee in american cup.The pie was dry cake with raspberry wich look like and tasted coming from the freezer mixed with gelee parfumed!!!! "Hande made Pie"The PRICE: Cherry on the cake": 14€20 for 2 Combos!! Instead of the offer: 7€80 for 2.I did ask many time for the bill without success. The waiter gave me the price "orally".As I was insisting many times, I finally got the bill. Not very professional at all!

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
