"I 'd driven past this place several times so decided to pay a visit with the family. The place has a nice comfortable atmos, but we were placed next to a busy internal doorway while other tables were free. Not really an issue, just a bit of unnecessary disturbance from passing punters. The service however was very swift and the food was agreed by us all to be particularly good and probably the best in the area. Beware the 'duvet ' Naans though, they are delicious and huge. One per pair of diners is plenty. Bottom line is great food and service, good sized portions with plenty of meat and four very happy diners. Highly recommend a visit."

Vegetable dhansak and aubergine bhaji extremely disappointing. There is loads more taste in a curry from Sainsbury’s. Would not recommend

Fabulous food, lovely small restaurant, very friendly staff, great service. Great price too Shame about the two local men propping up the bar, far too loud.

A great Indian restaurant with interesting dishes on the menu as welll as the classics. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was just right for Christmas Eve. Good value and the naan breads were huge!!

Absolutely amazing! We called in on our way home back to Telford and they were very happy to help us with a table. Very busy but we didn’t have to wait long for a table. Food and service fantastic. Excellent value for money and lovely staff! We will definitely go back!

We have hired a holiday cottage nearby and have used this venue twice via just eat for take away delivery. Really easy, swift delivery and couldn’t fault the food, it’s been superb both times. Only regret is we don’t live nearer to use this venue again. We’d definitely recommend to anyone looking locally. We ordered starters, 6 mains, breads and sides, all as expected and some free poppadoms too, with all the dips.

Superb! Came here with a bunch of friends. Really good atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. Wanted to try something 'different ', so ... Fish chaat starter Great! Firm pieces of fish lovely fresh/fruity flavours, served with a puri. Then Achar Gosht rich pickle flavours with very tender tasty lamb. Yum! Others in the group seemed equally satisfied with their choices, so a big thumbs up for Spice Heaven. To top and tail it with pappadum and coffee, check out the Banquet menu. Really good value. It 's a 35 minute drive for me, but I 'll make that journey at a moment 's notice!!

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
