"A group of 4 of us ate in on a Sunday evening whilst staying in the area, attracted by the BYO facility. Tbh, we weren 't expecting too much from such a small unassuming place with 4 tables in a shopping area. How wrong we were! We often go for a curry and can honestly say this was probably the best we 've had! A great selection of delicious curries, we had Sikander Badi Lamb, which was so tender it fell off the bone, Moglai chicken containing large chunks of succulent 'real ' chicken (as oppose to preformed chicken, which you often get), a Lamb Tikka Roshni with lovely tender and lean lamb pieces, and a Chicken Tikka Mahkany, all very well presented. The rice was fluffy and light, I particularly liked the coconut rice and my friend loved the vegetable rice, with proper chunks of veg in it. The garlic nan bread was cut up nicely for us to share, bombay potatoes were lovely large spiced chunks and the poppadums were large and crispy, as were the onion bhajis. Portions were huge and they kindly provided boxes/bags to take our leftovers away. Even tho it was a small informal place, they kept standards high with pristine white linen table cloths and napkins. We brought beer and wine with us (no corkage) and bought some soft drinks there. The bill for the 4 of us arrived with chocolate mints and hot towels and came to around £98 (no tip added, so we left our own, as we received good and friendly service). Payment by cash or cheque only. We will certainly be eating here if we are in the area again!"

Excellent selection on the menu. However, The Tarka Dhal was just water. I asked for a better one. it was still poor. I make it. The whole meal was extremely expensive. rather regrettable experience.

What a great find, ordered for a family meal and we were all blown away by how good the food was. The quality of ingredients and the chefs skill was apparent with every course. By far the best Indian take away we have had possibly ever.

Other than the Chicken Balti, the remaining dishes Chicken Pakora, Chicken Tikka, Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Passanda the chicken was very tough and chewy and ruined the dish. On a positive note the sauce and sundries where very good. Voir le carte

Must go!! This was such a lovely experience. I would definitely recommend, service and food is outstanding. The team are all very attentive and kind. Enjoy your meal here. Thank you to Arif the waiter. The added bonus is free parking on site.

This is our favourite curry house in the area, whenever we try elsewhere is just doesn't match up! Excellent food at reasonable prices, you can take your own alcoholic drinks which saves some money too. Always plenty of meat in the curries and generous portions.

My wife doesn 't like Indian food but Spice Cottage was the only restaurant open in Somerton that evening. She loved her meal: Slay the Dragon (chicken with pineapple) and side dishes of rice and vegetables. I had an excellent chicken tikka dish. Excellent service. Highly recommended. Voir le carte

Great Indian restaurant! We come here often on a Friday/Saturday night and the food never disappoints... it is lovely. Whenever we go for an Indian anywhere else, it does not compare to The Spice Gallery. Generous portions with lot's of meat and plenty of flavour. I am not sure if they have new owners as the staff seem to have changed for the better! The new staff are very friendly and welcoming. We will be back soon!

Reading other reviews with some saying this is the best Indian restaurant in the country, this set the bar quite high coming here. Sadly although reasonable, the food is nowhere near the best. I am from Berkshire and we have many places nearby that are better. Southall is a mere 30 minute drive away for starters. We ordered a Nazakat starter with Lamb Samosas. Both were nice but the Samosas were a bit oily, although fresh and hot. Our mains arrived Chicken Bhuna and Garlic Chicken with garlic naan. The 2 dishes looked almost identical!? Both again were oily but apart from that tasted okay. Service was very good. It seems the place is far more popular as a takeaway as we were the only seated...
