Had a wonderful meal here tonight. Beautiful place with outdoor seating, family friendly atmosphere and plenty of locals. Good hearty Bavarian dishes served quickly by friendly staff.

Never a bad meal, in fact always excellent food and value. After over 15 years, Elfi is taking a well deserved retirement, but I'm sure Renates long association will keep the tradition of excellence going.

We waited an hour and then one dish was served but not the other. Ten minutes later we found out they had lost the order. The one dish we got was a dry piece of meat with ham and melted cheese on top drowning in a creamy sauce. Not nice at all! Voir le carte

We visited twice in the space of a week because it was so good. The did was relatively basic and wholesome but really good quality and very plentiful. The service was friendly too. Nice atmosphere, a range of ages and people, families locals and tourists. The home made days are highly recommended.

The Restaurant is certainly among the Best in Grainau - not that it is a gourmet place, but it serves good, homemade traditional bavarian food and the staff is very friendly. Old photos on the walls tell the story of several decades of a proud family run establishment. On warm nights male sure to book a table outside.

We made a reservation here because we couldn't get in the night before and were very disappointed with the service. We waited an hour and had to ask if our meals were on the way. As we don't speak German this was a little awkward so in true British fashion were waited.when the food did arrive it was poor as if it had been reheated. Voir le carte

Fabulous service and food - Over the last year, Monkia and Renate have taken over the restaurant and improved the menu (which was excellent already). I highly recommend the Haxen (pork knuckle), which has the best crunch to gravy I have ever had. My husband has the fish, which is very fresh. They are happy to substitute vegetables for potatoes anytime.

For various reasons I have been to this wonderful and truly Bavarian restaurant three times in this month of January, 2016. Somehow, what was already a very good place has gotten better over the previous weeks! In December 2015, the two uber-friendly waitresses, Monica and Renate, bought the place and expanded the menu while keeping their former tasty Bavarian standouts. The menu is only in German but with Renate now in the kitchen pounding out schnitzel, Monica is able to help English speaking customers. The food is always fresh - try the Jaegerschnitzel or Schweinehaxen! - and Hacker-Pschorr is fresh on tap. Although I have not tried one, steak dishes as well as chef salads have also been...

Our visit here on Friday the 29th July was the worst experience of family holiday in Bavaria, indeed of more than 15 years of such trips. As we waited for a table the hostess shouted across the crowded dining room to us in German, when we indicated we did not speak German she started gesticulating at various tables. We took seats. 15 mins latershe brought menus and returned in another 5 to take drinks orders. In another 10 these came. We indicated we needed assistance with the menu, she muttered something incomprehensible and left. We made various attempts to attract attention after that only to get shrugged off.
