I only visited this place as a fishmonger and didn’t dine in, but I received excellent advice and ended up buying a delicious turbot that I hadn't tried before. It was fresh and fantastic. This Fish shop is amazing, filled with quality seafood. We visited with family when we were staying local to Ilfracombe last year and we enjoyed it so much we returned whilst staying in Exmouth nearly 2 hours away ! You can’t go wrong with anything you order here, it is all fresh as can be and really well presented. Service was excellent too and as I was on crutches I was given an accessible table. Whenever we visit Ilfracombe we always make sure to eat at S P, we've been visiting for many years and the seafood is always good. This experience was even better though as it appears the menu had been revamped. We had the smaller of the seafood platters which came with half a lobster, a dressed crab, mackerel fillets, smoked salmon, shell on prawns, crevettes, de-shelled prawns, mussels, cockels, crayfish tails and whelks along with salad, dips and bread and butter. The fish was delicious and the portion size was good. The seating area is also dog friendly and the staff made a fuss over our giant breed dog and made sure he had water and treats.
