"Had a great experience at Sora. The waiter was lovely, we had a nice conversation with him and he helped us choosing our dishes and telling us about their family business. The food was great, we had ginger pork and dumplings, some sides and ice cream for dessert. I would recommend trying the black sesame ice cream, it was incredible. The meal was much cheaper than what we were expecting, plus we were offered free snacks at the start of the meal and after desserts. It was a pleasant surprise! The place is really small, as we were sitting quite close to other tables, but not too much, it gave a very homely and genuine feeling. I felt like I didn't just have a good time with my boyfriend, but also with the other people who were having a meal around us. Everybody was really friendly. I will be going back!"

A two-course meal for three people was very reasonably priced, tasty, beautifully presented and varied in flavours. The very helpful staff were much appreciated by the two novices in our party. Sora may be small and unostentatious but has a warm, friendly ambiance. Will certainly go there again

I visited this restaurant as part of the Eat Out to Help Out program. It is a cozy little place with only 5-6 tables, which adds to its charm. The staff are wonderful, and the food is delicious and reasonably priced (especially with the deal offered through the scheme). I will definitely be returning.

We had dinner at Sora tonight, truly worth a recommendation! The service was great and the food amazing. We ordered a selection of tapas as well as desert. Everything was well made and delightful. If you are looking for a local restaurant with great Japanese food you should give Sora a try! Can be worth booking in advance.

Really disappointed with this place as the owners and the chef are Japanese but do not offer authentic Japanese food. After having been in Japan several times and having eaten in many Japanese restaurants in Asia, I can say with certainty that they are using instant noodles in their ramen, which is a great no, and the other dishes offered are not up to it. It's a shame, since it could be much better. Voir le carte

I went to this restaurant with my friends on a Friday night. We made a reservation because it's quite small. There was a wide selection of dishes to choose from, and the food came out quickly and tasted delicious. We ended up ordering more dishes as we went along. The portion sizes were generous and reasonably priced. The service was excellent. They were offering free sake tastings that night, which we really enjoyed. I definitely plan on going back in the future.

For me, this is in the four best restaurants in Beeston (together with The Frustrated Chef, Cafe Roya and SukoThai). The food is absolutely delicious and is made with much care and attention. Sushi is charming, like other dishes, like the donburi. In fact, all we've tried has been really good. Some of the desserts are also charming (e.g., green tea ice cream). It is also very well designed, and the staff is very friendly. The only drawback is that you no longer seem to get matcha cookies with your bill (they were absolutely delicious).

This is a charming small restaurant with a friendly and unpretentious atmosphere, seating probably no more than 24 people. The food is excellent, with a variety of shared tapas and Japanese-style starters, four different main dishes including specials. Our server was delightful and self-deprecating, knowledgeable about the menu and even checked with the kitchen on ingredients because one of our group has diabetes. The sesame ice cream had a slightly sinister appearance, resembling mortar, but it tasted great and was very refreshing. The coffees were also good, especially the espresso. I highly recommend this restaurant, which is only open four days a week. Reservations are likely essential. Voir le carte

Sora is a delightful little restaurant and will likely capitalise on the UK 's currently insatiable appetite for Japanese food. We dined mid week; as part of a Tapas meal we were served a starter, Bento Box main and a small bowl of ice cream for dessert. Service was excellent and I felt at ease asking for expert advice on what Sake I should order and what temperature it should be served, they have a lot of Sake! Highlight for me was the Miso Salmon and I loved the Miso soup that is included as an extra. While I 've never been to Japan, this felt authentic to me. The owner evening popped out of the kitchen to thank us, she is so cute and lovely. If you are looking for a passionate independent...

We have managed to get a table in this tiny restaurant twice without a reservation but we only live round the corner so I’d definitely recommend booking if you’re travelling from further afield. All the staff we have encountered are charming and very happy to explain anything you don’t understand about the menu or Japanese cuisine in general! We don’t eat meat and have found plenty of veggie/fish options. Everything we have ordered has been wonderful! I particularly like the potsticker dumplings which are the best I’ve ever had. Can’t go wrong with the sushi either. We had around 6 dishes, a bottle of wine, two desserts and a pot of tea and the bill came to £68 which feels like good value gi...
