"This has become my ' favorite local ' to meet up with valued friends for tea and a bite to eat, always busy, but the wait to be seated is well worthwhile, cosy charming and comfortable settings take me back in time to a different world, it 's a lovely escape from the everyday mundane tasks, and ideal to stop for a refreshing break during a shopping trip, My very first visit here soon after Small Talk tearooms opened up brings memories of Fentimens pink lemonade!! gorgeous and perfect to quench our thirst after a shopping afternoon with my Daughter.Everything is fresh and appetizing, the recent cheese toasties and omelets we tried were very moreish!staff are efficient and friendly, also polite, which goes a long way in my book, Thank you Small Talk, love this place, highly recommended, will keep coming back!"

We had breakfast here and enjoyed it very much. We have eaten here before and have enjoyed our time there every time. They have lovely decor in the tea room and this makes you feel very comfortable. The service is very good and the staff are very friendly. I have brought afternoon tea for my parents here and they had a lovely time. I will be going back. Voir le carte

I was very disappointed with the afternoon tea at this restaurant. The sandwiches were bland, consisting of egg mayo, cheese and pickle, and salmon fillings. The scones, although they looked nice, were very dry and difficult to swallow without a drink. The jam was served in a jar and the tea was cold. Despite these shortcomings, the tea room was lovely and the staff were nice. It's just a shame about the quality of the tea.

I cannot comment on the food as I did not even make it through the door. I tried calling earlier in the day, but there was no answer. The staff then informed me that they do not answer the phone because they are too busy. I was ignored while waiting for a table, and when I tried to get the staff's attention, I was rudely told that they were busy serving tables and we would have to wait. Unfortunately, I would not hurry back to this restaurant.

I have been to this restaurant before when it was always busy, but today it was quiet. My husband suggested we visit, so we waited to be seated. When a staff member finally came to the door, I asked if they could accommodate my egg and nut allergy. The staff member consulted with someone else, who I assume was in charge, and the response was that it was too difficult. There was no apology or attempt to discuss possible alternatives, like offering a reduced menu or a slice of toast. Feeling humiliated, we decided to leave and go home because I was too upset to try anywhere else.

I 've never been in Small Talk Tearooms before but I have walked past in many a times.Since Lockdown has begun easing in England me my friend decided on lunching here thank goodness we did because it was a delightful experience. The Staff were so welcoming was great to see them looking after themselves with the appropriate PPE that is needed because of COVID-19 these days. They were easy to talk too, friendly so considerate. Special shoutout to the lovely lady who wanted to know more about my latest Rivers of London Novel, we both loved her.The Afternoon Tea was delicious, even though we hadn 't made a reservation the Staff were happy for us to have it since they had the stock available. "this is a great place Thai restaurant that we unfortunately do not visit as much as we want. it has been an established part of my hometown hornchurch and serves fantastic Thai cuisine for many years. I am now glad to say that on Saturday we had a opportunity to visit and again eating was full of all the aromes they expect from this style of food. on Saturday we have walked on our fifteen minute walk to the heart of the city where they find the restaurant. we entered and received the usual friendly reception before we took our places. While we looked at the menu, we ordered a beautiful bottle of maison bergon 2020 a delightful French sauvignon blanc, full of citrus fruits, apple and lemongras aromas. unusual for us we decided to choose a set menu. we chose the Bangkok menu with an additional Thai salad. this started with the prawn crackers and sweet chili diving sauce. the starter was a plate consisting of chickensatai, spring rolls, huh on toast, chicken strips prawn tempura, which was all fresh, hot and full of fabulous thai aromen. we followed this with our additional plate of the yum nuar a fabulous spicy salate of cut grilled sirloin, swirl, early swirl, coriander, lemon juice, fish sauce chili flock, which I would definitely recommend. we now went to the main courses that would be with ingwer in black bohnensoße, chicken green curry, sweet with egg noodles. thai jasmin reis. the aromen and choir again complicated themselves perfectly and made every dish absolutely delicious. to finish they can have either tee, coffee or a few pots vanilla ice cream. this brought our charming Thai lunch to the end, and we hope to do again in the near future. I would highly recommend a visit here as eating is fantastic and there is always a good friendly service. also it is a long established part of our community and should be supported. many thanks for our fabulous lunch and look forward to seeing them all again soon."

"Very disappointed with food quality and service. We had booked a table for 13 people, 3 of which which were children. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely waitress who took us to our seats, but then proceeded to ask us to pass the plates and cutlery down the table to where the other guests were yet to arrive. So we set half of the tables, which is bizarre to ask a customer, but she was a lovely girl so it wasn 't a big deal at the time...until things went really downhill. We ordered 3 x £40 mixed grill platters which are meant to serve 3 4 people and asked for rice only, no bulgar. All 3 platters were brought with half rice and half bulgar; we asked the waitress to correct this, and she was apologetic and came back with a bowl of half rice and half bulgar again, we asked for rice on, so she went back and got a bowl of rice. Bearing in mind each platter is meant to serve 3 4 people, I struggled to serve the children an adequate portion they had 2 tablespoons of rice each; that 's how much rice was served with the large grill. My 10 year old niece then pulled out a long strand of hair from the kofteh she was about to eat; absolutely disgusting! Unsurprisingly, the cook wasn 't wearing a hair net, which I presume is standard?? I tried to be tactile and not draw too much attention to the situation to other eating customers, so quietly pulled the waitress aside and gave her the hair; she apologised and had another kofteh cooked (actually felt sorry for the girl, she looked mortified). The crunch came when we went to eat the chicken wings and baby chicken so many were raw pink and red raw meat! We told the waitress and she was insistent that it was cooked, but took it back believe me we have cooked chicken before and know what raw meat is. We were shocked when the same chicken was re cooked and then served back to us bear in mind, by this point the chicken had already cooled down from the first time it was cooked, centre was raw, and then re cooked and served again! There was no way we would 've touched it; also keep in mind that some of the chicken had come off different guests ' plates and were bitten into how were we supposed to know which piece was who 's?? So bizarre, I 've never had this happen, even in the cheapest small café. By this time to be honest we were off our food. The meat wasn 't great really; some was ok; the chicken shish was ok, the lamb chops were also ok; the chicken kofteh had no flavour; the kofteh was very greasy; the rice was wet. On a high note, the lahumajun was lovely and so were the dips and bread. When it came to the bill, we made it clear the chicken should be taken off, as none was eaten by anyone. When the waitress came and handed the bill over and was asked if the chicken was removed from the bill, her response was I 'm just a worker who else are we supposed to ask then? Why the attitude?! We had the right to complain after being served raw meat! The cook/owner then came over, leaned over me, with a plate of chicken hovering above my head and my face in his armpit, and started to argue with another guest that we didn 't ask for the chicken to be well done; no spacial awareness or respect for one 's space whatsoever. I didn 't realise we had to request for our chicken not to be raw; absolutely ridiculous. He knocked off £15 and for a £170 bill and the awful experience, I think that was insulting. He then knocked off a bit more, and we just accepted as wanted to get out of there. The same waitress came back and cleared the table, slamming the plates onto the trays no manners whatsoever and clearly showing she 's pissed off. Such a shame; all other guests witnessed this while they were trying to eat; could 've been totally avoidable. Why risk your reputation? I 've never had to ever make a complaint like this before, let alone write such a review. If you choose to eat here, check your meat is thoroughly cooked, or you 'll be poisoned!"
