"My wife, my brother and sister-in-law visited Barth near Stalag Luft One, where my father was POW for nine months during World War II. We decided to go to Zingst for dinner and looked for a good seafood restaurant and reviewed Trip Advisor, which we always do when from the city. We stopped at Skipper who had good reviews and both indoor and outdoor seats. We came at 6:30 and went in and saw the greeting and said we had a party of 4. She said NO, in a very rude voice. She offered no other explanation or if seats were available. There were tables that we could see both inside and outside the restaurant. We were all shocked by their bloating. We were not sure whether the treatment we have received, because we speak English rather than German. In any case, it left a bad taste in our mouth and we went back to Barth, where we enjoy a very nice seafood dinner. I have written over 130 reviews on TripAdvisor and have rarely given a bad review of a restaurant, and certainly never given a review with only 1/5, but this restaurant is certainly appreciated this review."

We didn't book, but they put us on the bar that was fine. We had both delicious fish and beautiful German wine. Good service and atmosphere.

Unbedingt reservieren! Leckere Fischgerichte und guter Service. Bei schönem Wetter kann man gut draußen sitzen, drinnen uriger Gastraum. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Sehr nettes Personal und schmackhafte Essen zu moderaten Preisen. Steinbeißer und Welsfilet auf den Punkt zubereitet. Außenbereich angenehm und innen sehr gemütliches Ambiente.

Nur Frauen im Service vorne und der Laden läuft... Sehr nette (engagierte, aber unaufdringliche) Bedienung, feine Vorspeisen (Shrimps-Cocktail mit leckerer Sosse, reichhaltiger Vorspeisensalat) und dann eine reichliche, sehr schmackhafte Fischplatte für 2 Personen. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Wir besuchten zu viert das Restaurant und hatten zwei Fischplatten Maritim für 2 Personen. Mir hat es sehr gut geschmeckt. Allerdings hatte unser Freund in der Nacht Magenprobleme. Das lag aber wohl an seiner ( bekannten ) Unverträglichkeit mit Muscheln. Und er musste die Muscheln essen! Also keine Abwertung bzgl. des Essens. Der Service war nett. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis gut.

This has never happened before in one of our many trips. When we entered the front door, a female employee shook his head at the door and only said the word, no, without explanation when we asked if we could sit four for dinner. That was enough for us, so we turned around and left. Even though we had no reservations, we noticed that there were many tables available inside and outside. The female employee was rude. She didn't leave us any options to turn around and eat elsewhere.

Wir wollten gerade im Außenbereich Platz nehmen, als es zum Regnen anfing. Die Bedienung sagte uns, dass wir aufgrund des Regens hier außen nicht bleiben könnten, auch nicht am überdachten Teil an der Seite des Restaurants. Auf unsere Nachfrage, ob im Innenbereich ein Platz frei sei, wurden wir abgewiesen - alle Tische seien reserviert. Ein netter Gast im Innenbereich bekam unser Gespräch mit und bat uns an, an ihrem Vierertisch, der nur von zwei Personen besetzt war, Platz zu nehmen. Das wurde uns aber auch von der Bedienung untersagt. Es wäre zeitlich zu knapp, da der Tisch um 19 Uhr für andere Gäste reserviert sei! Es war zu diesem Zeitpunkt aber erst 17 Uhr. Sehr schade.
