"Having been spoilt rotten with curry houses in Bradford and then Manchester my wife and I had been disappointed with every curry house in Ireland, none came close to the intensity and flavour of some of the truly award winning curry houses we'd enjoyed in England until we were recommended here. Hits our curry craving for 6! Which should be their star rating! We'll happily drive 45mins to eat here (and on more than one occasion collect as a takeaway food is still amazing when we get home! Staff are really nice and take their lead from the owner, an absolute gentleman who is always delighted to welcome you and get to know you. Eat here, simple as that."

"This will be a brief review as we drove by on a Sunday morning on a trip that had been planned quickly and this was on our route to somewhere else. This place is in a very small village on the Main Street. It's a place we would normally never be in on a Sunday. As we drove by, we saw from an on street blackboard that they offered a Sunday roast dinner for £4.95 this is a price that you could hardly make it for. Long story short we pulled up and bought one; turkey and ham. The dish had really generous slices of the two meats as well as carrots, parsnips and Brussels sprouts. All the food was tasty and its remarkable they can offer this value on quality. We think gravy was offered but found when we got home there was no potato, which was a surprise as it's a dinner staple in these parts. It was still quite early on in the day we did throw the lady server a bit asking fir lunch at that early time and maybe the spuds just weren't ready but that aside the portions, quality and genuine value for money that was offered was excellent."

"It was pouring rain on a Monday morning when we arrived here In Poyntzpass on a recommendation. We didn’t know this independent place existed. This is a small village about 8 miles from Newry and this cafe is almost adjacent to the old canal towpath, which is part of the Ulster Way so hikers, bikers and walkers are a mainstay of their business. Like many places they currently offer the current government eat out to help out deal that ends at the end of August 2020. It’s about the only popular thing this lousy government has done in its first year in power. So we sat in and it was really cosy and homely. We were captivated by the sophisticated and shiny coffee machine apparently it was only installed yesterday. The owner explained the inner workings of this contraption and I was impressed with the technology behind our coffee. We ordered large cappuccinos, one toasted chicken pineapple toastie with side salad and one poached eggs (2) with avocado mash on sourdough with chilli flakes. All in all £8.5 for two. The service was ace and it’s really worth a visit or several."

"Judging by the tea time wait on your order,others also are impressed by the food. I phoned in my order,rather than stand outside due to covid rules. There were 6 people waiting when I arrived 20 minutes later but I still had to wait. But I did not mind. I ordered a breast of chicken curry with boiled rice. The steaming hot curry had a caramel consistency and was full of lean breast of chicken chunks,sweet onion,mushrooms and peas. Just enough kick to make it spicy. You can never go wrong with this and it is big portions. People are travelling from further away because the food is so good. The man and wife team,assisted by their two siblings are so friendly as people are saying. £6.60 is a fair price for a big portion."
