"Should at the very least be round, not a small half scoop looking quite lost in my tub. I ordered a scoop of lemon ripple ice cream, no ripple and half a round scoop. £1.80. I politely asked if it was possible to have a little lemon ripple as there was none in my half scoop. Permission had to be gained from another lady across the cafe. I took my paltry offering over to show her, but very little interest was shown. We are locals and like to support local businesses. Thank you for the bonus ticket to use the loos, a whole scoop of ice cream was all that was required."

The restaurant offers a fantastic variety of ice cream flavors, from classic vanilla to unique options like Jaffa cake. The staff is very friendly and the ice cream is absolutely delicious.

We dropped in here due to our niece wanting a chocolate Ice cream. We had eaten at scoops in Butlins, but the chocolate flavour was a little to bitter for her. here the ice cream was delicious the staff friendly.

Stopped by on a recent visit for a cone. Was served by a young lad who clearly didn’t want to be there and didn’t speak even when I asked a question. Had the tiniest cone with the requested clotted cream which was about half a tea spoon. Shocking. Wouldn't return there.

We fancied an ice cream after some exhausting shopping in Minehead, so came here as it has such an attractive frontage and it was easy to park nearby. We were not disappointed. We thoroughly enjoyed our ice cream, and also admired the gorgeous view of North Hill from there.

I highly recommend this place for a delicious breakfast that is perfect for curing a hangover. The food was excellent, there was plenty of seating, and the view of the sea was beautiful. The wait for the food was not too long either. I would give this restaurant a 5-star rating.

The staff at this cafe were unfriendly and unhelpful. The portions were small and overpriced. I would not recommend this place. My 12-year-old daughter had to wait to use the toilet until we paid for our food, which was unacceptable. Their behavior towards a child was disgusting.

My husband and I use this cafe whenever we can. Lovely breakfast and then we came for lunch. Fish and chips were fine and I had a jacket potato with beans and cheese. That was very nice too. Then Andy had banana longboat and I chose honeycomb split, gorgeous!! Did it with a couple of servants and we did know the woman, thank you

Came here around 11 years ago and had fond memories. On this trip the service itself was satisfactory but the food was poor. If it could be microwaved it was. The beans on my children’s meals were cold but had a skin on where they’d been under a heat lamp (yet were still cold! and my lasagne was sat in a pool of oily mess. Drinks were served in plastic throw away cups. Not a particularly inviting atmosphere either. Very sad considering it’s position along the sea front. Prices were expensive for what you received.

The George Inn

The George Inn

"Yet again we needed to celebrate having resolved a long standing technical problem. The pub in Brompton Regis came up in discussion the evening before when our neighbour was around for a glass of wine. He said that before coming to our village he’d looked at houses in Brompton Regis. He left and we booked a table. Friday was a damp day but we were not deterred as we drove up into the Brendon Hills, usually distant views greet one but this day the clouds were dominant. However as we descended from Roborough Gate towards Wimbleball Lake we could turn off the wipers. By the time we crossed the bridge at the top of the lake a shaft of sun broke through and sparkled across the surface of the water whilst light wisps of mist kissed the shore line. Rounding the churchyard wall always raises our expectations for there is the George Inn. The bar door was hardly open before Tash, a beaming smile, greeted us with a price board for ‘COFFEE’. I said in my previous review that I wouldn’t mention coffee at the George again, sorry, but I must. The coffee machine had arrived the day before. Well done Tripadvisor the George! We had a wonderful starter of Baba Ganoush, new to the menu that day. It was exceptionally good with delicate flavour. Following on was chicken breast and pasta with tomato sauce, again great flavour though my wife found it a little too greasy. My Bengal curry was fantastic and a most generous serving. Our ‘Desert,’sic, was Chocolate Ganache with pistachio ice cream under crunched nuts. I had the steamed maple syrup pudding set in a delicious whisky sauce, a very delicate and light texture, just right to finish on after the curry! Of course we had our long awaited espressos from the new device, a delicious finale to our meal. Earlier in walkers had dropped in wanting a coffee. Now all on Exmoor should be heading to the George for their ‘hit’."
