Shoryu Ramen - Carte

Japanese noodle bar style restaurant in Oxford shopping centre. Really tasty ramen bowls with plenty of menu choices. Small kids menu too. One of the better Asian style restaurants.

This is our 4th time here and sadly this was the worst experience. The ambience, especially from the staff was as cold as the gyoza which we were served and to make matters worse, the chicken karaage was dry and burn. Truly disappointed!!!

We payed a good amount of money for what was a very poor and not very nice meal. There is already a service charge added to the bill when you order everything through your phone. Our food didn’t arrive at the same time either. And left feeling wretched. Would definitely avoid this place. Voir le carte

We love Japanese food. After we placed an order we waited for over 40min and in a mean time waiter brought me a beer which I never ordered. In about an hour after we entered restaurant we left hungry as we didn’t get any food up there. Maybe the food is good, but we didn’t had chance to try it.

Me and my Girlfriend Had a great Time eating Delicious Food at your restaurant, The waiter and waitresses were committed to great service Especially Faiza 10/10 , She seems like pretty Knowledgeable about the current trends of Hospitality. Most Importantly every food and drink on your menu Tasted Great.

I had the signature Ramen at this restaurant, which was a white Ramen with pork belly, ginger, mushrooms, and Nori. The broth was tasty, the pork was very tender, and the ginger and scallions added a nice flavor to the broth. If you are shopping in this area and looking for a quick, hot meal, this is a great place to stop by. Voir le carte

The restaurant had poorly trained staff who were not knowledgeable about allergies. The person who seated us barely spoke English. The food was lukewarm at best and our water was forgotten. Other tables that were sat after us were served before us. When I tried to pay, I was treated as if I were invisible. Despite all of these issues, I was still charged a service fee of $4.95. It seems like they are not focused on their customers and are just prioritizing delivering orders for Deliveroo. I would recommend going to Waggas instead.

Service was incredibly slow. After 20 minutes no one had come to the table, not even to ask for drinks, and we had to call the waiter to actually come and take our order. Took half an hour for the edamame to arrive and this was even before the drinks or tab water arrived we had to ask for the drinks (ice tea and a coke) twice. This was on a Monday at 2pm so it’s not like it was prime time. It is infuriating that they have the nerve to automatically add 12.5% tip to the bill. The food was good, but the service is so poor that it's not worth going just for the food. I recommend you spend your money elsewhere unless they get better staff/management. I write this as a loyal customer of Shoryu’s parent company, Japan Centre, for over 20 years. However, as many other reviewers have pointed out for a while now, the service in this restaurant is terrible. Yet management are clearly doing nothing to fix the issue. The staff are indifferent at best and don’t seem have any basic customer service training, or maybe they just don’t care our drinks arrived way after our food. This was on a fairly quiet weekday lunchtime, so the staff were hardly run off their feet.
