"The cafe has a lovely setting. It's very sherlock-esque. There isn't much on the menu for vegans, and nothing is labelled vegan, but if you dig deep there are some options. Roasted veg and houmous panini, which I had, would not be my first choice, but was actually really nice. It had peppers and aubergine on. It comes with crisps, salad and coleslaw (which isn't vegan so ask to not have it) other things a saw, soup with bread if you have no butter, jacket potato and beans, toast and preserves and the fried etc are cooked in vegetable oil. Even though not advertised on the menu, they have soy milk for hot drinks. I don't think any of the cakes are vegan (a lot of gluten free). There is also an escape room in the attic which is about £20pp. It is VERY hard, even for an acid escape roomist but good fun. We did not get out "

I had a delicious chocolate wingcake and tee here, a so quirky little caffe that is worth a visit for the ambiente alone.

Sat down, waited 15 minutes for someone to come to the table to take an order. No visible marked vegan options on the menu so had to ask.

Had the vegan chocolate fudge cake! It was delicious. Cafe is slightly chaotic... You might even have to wait outside! Very nice decor inside though and very cooled.

The Veg Panini at The World of the World was incredible. The prices are reasonable, the food is delicious, and the staff is very friendly. This review was updated from my previous one on December 11, 2021.

I tried the vegan chocolate wing cake, and it was absolutely delicious! The café has a bit of a chaotic vibe, so you may find yourself waiting outside at times. However, the interior is beautifully decorated and has a nice, relaxed atmosphere.

They seemed to be entirely unaware of food allergies. At one moment they mentioned that the bread contained milk, and the next moment they claimed it didn’t, which made me doubt their understanding of a vegan diet. The vegan option we tried was quite dull and lacking in flavor. They mentioned having milk, but we ended up not receiving any coffee at the end.

On a more positive note, the panini I tried was decent, but it wasn't enough to sway me to return. Instead, I would recommend checking out Java Café and Sanders Yard for more reliable vegan options. The coffee was decent, at least, but considering the panini was a bit lacking and cost over £7, I have to raise concerns about the pricing. Additionally, I was surprised to see a request for a tip when I went to pay.

So this is on Happy Cow I see. Been coming here for years mainly for a tea or coffee but also a bite to eat on a couple of occasions. I tend not to pay for tea out anywhere as I think it’s a complete waste of money but I have to say Sherlocks provide an enjoyable and traditionally English tearoom experience. Food-wise, a red pepper and hummus panini isn’t exactly exhilaratingly inventive but it did the job. Lovely quaint place, an efficiently run fussy tearoom with staff who wear aprons. I like it but it’s not going to make the vegan wall calendar.

However, when I looked at the menu, I noticed there were no indications of vegan or vegetarian options, nor any information about food allergies. I had to go upstairs to inquire about this, but even the staff there seemed unaware of what vegan meant. I simply asked for vegan options. My girlfriend ordered the Houmous Vegetable Panini along with an oat milk cappuccino. When the food arrived, my friend’s Panini was served with coleslaw, which turned out to not be vegan, and she had to leave it uneaten. When it was time to pay, I noticed an option to add tax to the final bill, which was a bit surprising. Additionally, I found the prices for food and drinks to be somewhat high compared to my e...
