Seven Park Place - Menu

We had a fabulous dinner with wine pairing. The staff was excellent and the food was great.

Expected it to be busier , staff were attentive but unable to deliver wine flight with gourmand menu was unavailable and cocktails in the bar were apparently a new menu menu a bit samey… good quality but uninteresting..

Food was excellent as always. It was a long time since we last went and the refurb was a calming space and a lot lighter. Service was good but felt I was left waiting for dessert a little too long. Saying that, we enjoyed our evening immensely.

A real hidden gem! I had an absolutely wonderful evening here for my partner's birthday and I honestly cannot fault a thing. The service, quality, and attention to detail were phenomenal, and the food was outstanding. I will definitely be recommending here for any upcoming special occasions.

Other than the Yule Log dessert all our food was delicious. The new (temporary?? sommelier did not know that St Julien is part of Bordeaux tried to substitute a white Burgundy. The wine department really needs attention. The Maître D saved the evening but it would have been appreciated if someone had asked why neither lady guest had more than one mouthful of “the log” Loin of venison exceptional.

In most places the meal we had would be described as pleasant and satisfying, but those with a memory of how things were can only look on it with disappointment. The dishes now are made for comfort rather than excitement. A crab bisque kept to crab and cream brings satisfaction but no gastronomic adventure. The cod and muscles was simple (though I prefer avoidance of the vacuum bath) but without innovation.

The question was how did this restaurant manage to get a Michelin star? Frankly, the only thing which was good and tasty was my gnocchi in their limited menu! I then had smallest piece of unimaginative sea bass with only a few small peeled tomatoes! My partner had a dry pork parcel and a tough and dry ribeye steak for main. And our deserts nothing to write home about! The bill came more than £200 without alcohol! Very surprised with the whole experience. Will not go back again.

Only a couple of things I would criticise, firstly we got off to a bit of a bad start waiting for drinks and then one of the said drinks appeared to be forgotten. When this was brought up the waitress became a little defensive, which I didn't think was appropriate. The only other thing was the Christmas Menu could only be had if everyone at the table wanted it. I find this a bit strange, surely if there are two couples dining and one couple wanted to have it, then they should be able to do so ? If it was a party of two they could order it, so why couldn't one couple in a party of four? Apart from that the food was excellent, as well as the surroundings and atmosphere. I would recommend it.
