"We have known Schubers for more than 14 years when Mr Schuber had just taken over the former Bovril under the name of Austeria am Kurfürstendamm. We were there until last, so until the move, happy and often guests. This continued for a while after the move until the excerpt became the pusher. With the new concept we have frankly not become warm, although we like the Austrian cuisine very much. This is probably also view or But since then we only rarely go there and that only if there is something else, except the Austrian repertoire. So this year we were once there at Martinsgans and that was excellent. Then we were there to the Austeria memorial days that take place every last Friday of the month and where there are also things for which the Austeria was famous. During our last visit, the restaurant was very well visited, which unfortunately also had quite an impact on the waiting period. The appetizer came only after a good 70 minutes! What does not do well to the compatibility of food and wine. This was explained by the fact that many guests were there and that they had to understand. Right, but the guests usually reserve all there and couldn't plan it? Probably the kitchen no longer came after with the crowd of guests and then the food sequence hinted. After the first gear had been waiting for itself for a very long time, the second one went quite awkward. We had a very good lobster cocktail, excellent as ever, and then rather moderate oysters that were fresh but rather meatless. Then we had a Surf Turf, which was well cooked, but floated in an undefined brown sauce. After all, there was a Wiener Schnitzel, which had clearly received too much heat, it had to go very quickly and therefore could only be treated with great hunger, but not at all with appetite. It was literally furdry, panade and meat. All in all, these smears from the evening did not make such a thing that you would like to repeat. The service at least the waiters who have been there for decades are attentive and friendly as always. Conclusion : We are happy to come back to special occasions like the Martinsgans. So we like to keep the Schuber in memory and that's enough."
