"This restaurant, situated along the lungomare between Messina and Taormina has an upstairs open area for those beautiful Sicilian summer nights or indoor downstairs for the cooler evenings. The atmosphere is truly mediterranean and the welcome typically sicilian,warm and sincere like Sicily itself! Francesco and his family and staff are accommodating and welcoming in every way possible. The food is nothing short of exceptional....fresher fish is still swimming in the sea a mere 50m. across the road.. Their specialities are cold fish starters, fried fish starters or grilled , from calamari to pesce spada, muscles or prawns it is all fresh and perfectly prepared. If you not into fish, their pizzas and pastas are possibly the best you will find on the riviera. The friendliness of waiters and waitresses and professionalism of this young TEAM headed by Francesco makes you feel at home and you just want to go back for more. Sapori di Mare is frequented by locals as well as tourists and often by Italian heads of State and politicians. Whether it is a casual dinner , an anniversary or a special function it will be an event to remember.
