"We have been ordering delivery from Saffron for over two years and have always been pleased with the food. However, our recent experiences have not been the same. Four weeks ago, we attempted to order through Just Eat but were told they were not delivering. We ended up calling directly to place our order, but did not receive the discount available through Just Eat. When our food arrived, the main meals were crushed and sauce had leaked in the bag, leaving us disappointed. We tried to order again on Tuesday through Just Eat, but once again, encountered issues. Unfortunately, we have decided to order from another restaurant now. We used to enjoy the quality and flavor of Saffron's cuisine, so we hope they can resolve these issues and return to their previous level of service."

Excellent take away. We ordered different dishes and all were lovely. Well done everyone at Saffron.

We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant. The menu was great and the food was full of flavorful ingredients, not just spicy. Definitely worth a return visit.

We went here as our normal Indian was closed.Nice food and reasonably priced.Couldn’t fault anything other than the sauces were not as thick as we like but I think that’s personal preference not a problem as was still very tasty. We like to go to spice lounge generally but would happily come here again Voir le carte

This will be the first and last time I purchase from this restaurant. I ordered the curry expecting it to be thick and creamy, but it was watery like tap water. I also found the rice to be very spicy and I couldn't eat it. Unfortunately, I had to throw the entire meal in the bin. This is a definite no for me.

Appalling King prawn curry 12.50 for a few shrivelled things in a watery brown soup.Chicken in Tikka masala was tough and the saag aloo had no flavour. The poppadums tasted of old frying oil.40 pounds for the most disappointing Indian meal we have ever had. It arrived quickly is the only good thing we have to say about it.

If I could have scored a 0 I would have. Every course was awful, worse of all was the king prawn curry they certainly weren’t King prawn and the prawns hadn’t been cleaned they still had “poo” on them the curry sauce was very thin and watery. I could go on but I won’t. Save yourself the money and book up for the Indian restaurant across the road (The Spice Lounge) a totally different experience. Voir le carte

Ah a stunning meal. Friendly and efficient staff, great choice of food and extremely tasty. We ordered from the early bird (pre- 7pm menu) two courses about £13. We had poppadoms with dips as an appetiser followed by chicken tikka and onion bajee. For mains we had mushroom rice, garlic naan breaf, chicken tikka masala and chicken korma accompanied by cold beer. The whole meal was hot, spicy, tasty and just what we wanted. Would we go again? Oh yes just a shame we dont live nearer but 300 miles is a bit of a hike!!

we have ordered that food from saffron be delivered for at least two years, and so far it is always excellent. unfortunately before four weeks we tried to order by just eat and said they did not deliver. I arranged directly and could order food, but without the discount on just eat available. when it arrived, the main meal times were comminuted and the sauce filled the bottom of the bag. really disappointed. on Tuesday to order again and again no joy through just eat. unfortunately we order now from another restaurant. it is a real shame, as we enjoyed the quality and taste of the saffron kitchens. I hope they sort these problems and back to the level they should be.

"I went here a few years ago and gave the restaurant four stars. Having returned, recently, I am dropping my review to two stars. When I called to make a reservation, the gentleman answering the phone straight up asked me if I was actually going to turn up. This immediately put me off. I understand that some places have problems with customers booking and then failing to show up, but there are probably politer ways to speak to people making a booking. When we got there, the gentleman who greeted us seemed to be the same man as answered the phone. He was very friendly and polite, and everything seemed fine. I remembered that the last time I visited, the Vindaloo wasn't particularly hot, so this time I tried ordering the Phal, which should have been considerably spicier. I have had Phals in other restaurants and they are normally at just about the upper limit of my tolerance/enjoyment. Sadly, Spice Island's Phall wasn't noticeably hotter than their rather timid Vindaloo. My sons both had tasty curries (deliberately mild, as they don't like very spicy food), and I couldn't argue with the portion sizes, price or flavour. When I mentioned the lack of heat in the Phal to the manager (the only person working front-of-house), he replied that he had given me something relatively mild because he wasn't sure if I could really handle spicy food. This on its own limits the place to two stars. There is a distinct lack of trust from the management towards customers. Two days later, we ordered curries for delivery. Mostly the same items, but with one of our Vindaloos switched to a second Phal. Again, the Phals just weren't particularly spicy, despite our insistence, on the phone, that yes, we really did want spicy food. I have no idea if Spice Island is actually capable of serving really spicy food, as I have never had any from there. I can say that their food is flavourful and generously portioned for the price. The restaurant is cleaner than the last time we visited, with no lingering smell of cigarette smoke in the toilets anymore. The management, however, is off-putting and I am not sure if I would bother trying for spicy dishes for a fourth time."
