"The slim dining room is dimly lit, mostly by candles that adorn the ornate tables dressed with thick black and gold decorative cloth. The heavy wooden chairs have a regal feel that serves to heighten the notion of tranquillity just yards from the main row of shops that are central to Moseley Village. We start with chicken satay, a dish too often relegated to the Just Eat default starter. Thick chunks of thigh meat, marinated and impaled on three skewers, full of flavour and gentle aromatics that seamlessly blend with a satay sauce, rich with peanut and coconut milk. By comparison it made the duck roll seem average, which it wasn't. The roll, deep fried to a crisp, holding tender pieces of meat and the occasional shard of crispy skin. It needed the sharp side salad to offset the deep funk of the bbq sauce which was to be a close relation to hoisin. We chose the same birds for main course, because we are ill prepared and hungry. A red curry is a joyous thing full that successfully balances out the sweet and the sour, the heat and the salty. There is the background of kaffir lime and pungent notes of fish sauce. It speaks of the work of an experienced hand in the kitchen. The duck inside is well cooked, though it plays second fiddle to the sauce which dances around it. Pad Pik Khing has more of the chicken thigh meat with krachai and green beans. Its sauce is all acidity and unadulterated heat a good thing; no, a great thing which has little care for the western taste buds. We both mop up the last of the sauces with sticky rice that is the right side of claggy. We opt to take liquid desserts in the pub around the corner, pay the bill and leave for the last of the evenings sun. Whilst putting the world to rights over a pint or three, we agree that Sabai Sabai exceeded expectations for the both of us. Its bold and authentic Thai food has been refined just enough to justify a price which sits just above similar restaurants. Regardless of whether or not you are familiar with the cuisine, I urge you to give it a go. Just do it sober. Food this good needs to be remembered"

I enjoyed it so much last time, I have returned yet again!! Went here with a friend and he hadn't been here before, so we had the sharing starter and then a set menu for the remainder of the meal, which consisted of Thai Green Curry, Salt and Pepper prawns and Pad Thai, which where all equally as scrumptious. Cannot recommend here enough.

A really nice thai resturant in Harborne, not the cheapest but food is very nice. The menu doesnt have a massive variety but the dishes on offer are well presented and very well prepared. The service is good, our waiter Shahin was very polite and attentive without intruding on our meal. If I have one negative though its that the atmosphere and service is not very....Thai. The staff dont seem to have much knowledge of thai dishes and the contents of the food on offer. A little more emphasis on Thia experince would be a good move.

The food and the atmosphere was excellent at this restaurant, we really enjoyed ourselves as you will see from the pictures. We had the summer menu and I was already full from the starters! I had lamb and my sister had duck, both of which were very succulent and tasty, the meat just fell off the bone. Compliments to the chef as it was cooked brilliantly. Loved the lemon tart, but was not to keen on the brownie, although my sister loved the brownie. Lol. Thank you for the service it was amazing and so sorry for break glass (my sister did it)!

Ordered vegetarian starter sharer which included 4 different starter items-the spring rolls, golden bags and sweetcorn cakes were lovely but not sure what the fourth was but it was quite doughy! Ordered masaman curry for main which is a crowd pleaser with a side of pak choi which was delicious. Really full afterwards but well worth it. Also used tastecard so all of the above for two plus 1 glass of wine came to just under £40 which is really good value. Was quite loud in there tonight-it was busy but they also had someone playing any singing-he was good but i had trouble hearing the staff (and my other half!

Having been told about Sabai Sabai by a local friend I went there for dinner one evening with my family. The service was good on arrival and continued to be steady during the meal. The staff were very friendly and helpful, However i didn 't think the meal lived up to the reputation. My starter was a chicken dish with thai spices and spring onion, what arrived was a chicken dish which was so overpowered by the amount of red and spring onion on it. I have no idea how the rest tasted! My main called Weeping Tiger was reasonably good and the pudding was nice. But not up to the standard i was led to expect. Wont rush back unfortunately.

I visited here for a nice family meal on a Sunday afternoon, and having never eaten here before, I was pleasantly surprised. Nicely decorated interior, with good lighting in the day, and ample light with the high windows surrounding the restaurant. The food is fresh, and flavoursome, and as I have begun eating fish, I loved the fish soup. There is a wide varied menu, with soo much choice on offer decent sized portions, I found the options appealing. This place doesn't disappoint, the staff were attentive, and I'll certainly be going back, (voucher or no voucher). My tip, try the passionfruit mojito, refreshing and perfect for the pallet after wonderful Thai aromatic food.

The restaurant is located on the main road so it's difficult to miss. It's a shame they don't have designated parking so I had to drive around the residential roads to find a place. The decor is a fusion of traditional Thai with contemporary design. There is a fireplace in the centre of the restaurant that adds a rustic feel. In the evenings they tend to lower the lights so the restaurant is quite dim perfect for a romantic meal! The menu is varied and mouth wateringly good. The portions are not overly generous so you can easily eat a starter with a main course without feeling the top bottom of your trousers is soon to give way! The prices are moderate given the style and quality of the rest...

Already being a fan of the sabai sabai in Moseley we recently ventured up to the fairly newly opened Harborne branch. Arriving there it was clear to see they are out to please (admittedly it was valentine's day so they may have been pulling out the stops) as we were greeted with a smile and instantly had the offer to take our coats and umbrellas within seconds of entering! The drinks service at the table was fantastic and the range of wines (white especially) showed a couple of the more unusual grape varieties at very reasonable restaurant prices, the wine itself not failing to live up to standards. The food was excellent in taste and there was enough time for chit chat between courses witho...
