"As we’d journeyed up El Toro to visit the monastery we decided to have a bit of lunch in the cafe. The views are lovely from the veranda but we chose to eat inside due to the heat. Luckily my Spanish is ok, otherwise translation would be difficult when ordering. The drinks arrived promptly and we ordered from the menu. I ordered a tomato and Mahon cheese salad (this is a plate of sliced tomato intertwined with cheese; that’s it). The people having burgers thought they were nice but the plain cheese sandwich wasn’t to the diners liking due to a random tomato salsa smeared on the bottom of the bread. Price was a bit more than it was worth but given the location we accepted that before ordering. Yes I know this is Menorca but the flies and wasps in the cafe were relentless. They were around you and the food and when I went to pay at the bar, as I got tired of waiting at the table, there were way too many on the bar top to call it hygienic. If I’d seen that first, I’d have left immediately. Cash or card is accepted. Toilets stank. Not returning and can’t recommend this venue based on my single visit"

Having walked up El Toro from Es Mercadal we were delighted to sample a cold beer at the restaurant with a packet of crisps and nuts

Muy buen servicio, han sido muy amables. Hemos pedido el menu de caldereta de langosta. Muy rico, terminamos bien llenos. Sin duda un lugar más que recomendable

El menú por 16,50 € inmejorable. La caldereta de marisco estaba buenísima. La atención del personal mejor imposible, nos hicieron un hueco en la terraza a pesar de estar lleno. Las vistas inmejorables. Todo perfecto, volveremos.

We chose a beautiful sunny day in March to visit the restaurant after it was recommended to us. Maria ,our waitress , was brilliant. Menu of the day was excellent value for money with wine included. Of course the views are spectacular. Highly recommended
