Ruen Thai - Menu

We asked them to chose the food for 6 guests on a business dinner, they asked a few questions and boy was the food great. The service was very attentive but not intrusive, I would highly recommend it for business and pleasure

A lovely pleasant surprise, although I feel the inside is a bit clustered and dated, the service and especially the food makes up for this. My mouth is still watering thinking of the food. I was able to get a very decent Rosé so all in all , worth a visit and I will be back.

Eaten here twice and the food is always of a very high standard - one of the best Thais I have eaten at outside Asia.Downsides are it is popular so booking is essential most nights, and prices are higher than average. But it is consistently reliable and only 5mins walk from Heimeranplatz Sbahn.

We discovered this little gem while we were walking it looks like a place where the locals go it's not in a tourist area. The staff were friendly and the place had a lovely atmosphere. We only tried a couple of dishes but they were both very tasty. My only complaint is that for a Thai restaurant the food could have been a bit more spicy.

We ate here our first night in Munich since easily walkable from Sheraton Westpark. The owner greeted us weigh a big smile even though we didn't have a reservation. Tables have lovely white tablecloths, Thai dishes and candlelight. Menu is extensive. We had a good Tom Kha soup with huge prawns and chicken Pad Thai. Had to add some spice but I like that I can get it to spice level that I want. Ordered a chard and it came out in a small carafe so at least 2 glasses worth. Nice first meal! Service was extremely attentive and friendly.

Housed in a pretty building in Munich's West End within easy walking distance from several hotels, Ruen Thai delivers authentic Thai cuisine in a uniquely Munich fashion. My wife LOVED the carafe of wine offered in lieu of a mere glass, and she when she ordered Massamun Curry off-menu she was greeted with a warm "of course, we can make anything " - and it was GOOD. My Deer with Red Curry was medium spicy, delicious and not gamey at all. DO NOT feel weird about ordering a fine Munich beer to accompany your food at Thai Ruen, because while they are authentic, they speak and serve German-"ically.

We are Thais and have a stop over in Munich for 2days. Finding Ruen Thai as a good nearest to our hotel, eventually we were extremely impressed with overall performance. Food is highly above average of Thai food outside Thailand. There are lots of expensive wine you may be seeking for but not for us, we just have 3 of simple Thai dishes and learned that they were extremely tasty. We are certain that if this restaurant located in Bangkok, they will make a fortune. It's hard to understand why this place gets a TA "certificate of excellence" unless it is for the extensive wine list. It is popular with a mainly older clientele, and offers a selection of Thai classics with, as others have pointed out, very few vegetarian options. Soups are around 7 Euro, most mains 16 - 17 with some at around 25.The pretensions of a high class place are there, including a range of empty top-class Bordeaux bottles such as Ch. We are great fans of that place and it's a Thai landmark in Munich. We go here maybe once a month and never got disappointed, neither with the food north the friendly and consistent service quality. Also the wine list is quite remarkable and it will take a while to go through. You can get a Silvaner by the glass but also a award winning Chardonnay from Argentina...My personal tip would be the Deer , spicy. it's unique and excellent and comes in 4 different varieties.
