"what a nice pub, a good old English pub, with a parking garden. we visited yesterday, when we had spared a few hours and we were hungry, at the arrival (4:45) we were told that the evening menu was not until 5:30, but when we were hungry, they all stopped. the staff were so friendly and friendly and entertained, we even got a ride ever there were 3 left and there were 3 of us who were so friendly. the menu was generous and the food was delicious, the whole pub was clean, tidy and beautifully decorated. all in all we were very impressed and will soon return. highly recommended."

We were able to get a table on Easter Sunday and the food was amazing! We had the burgers and although I feel the jam that goes in it is a bit on the sweet side for my liking the burger was absolutely amazing and top quality. Would 100% recommend Voir le carte

I want to give a huge shoutout to the Royal Oak for accommodating our party of 14. The atmosphere was great, and the owners and Tom went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. The Sunday lunch had delicious vegetarian options. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Dropped in for a meal and a few beers last night. The pub has just reopened under new ownership time in months) and is now under experienced management. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly, and the service and food were both good. Well kept ales and further improvements to come as the pub reestablishes but a great start . We would certainly recommend that you try the Royal Oak again if you have been disappointed under previous ownership. Sunday lunch looks amazing

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."
