"We have stayed here previously and enjoyed ourselves with our son, we saw then it was tired but a beautiful building. We booked to come back , which was then cancelled last minute with no explanation..saying it was not COVID related. We were told we would receive a call enabling us to rebook. This didn’t happen, so I decided to rebook through their website.I had sent previous emails and phone calls and messages, which were unreturned.Eventually I go through to Rohan…who explained they were now only open Thursday -Sunday because of COVID..although no explanation of no returned emails and messages. I got one back eventually confirming the booking relating to an extra bed required for our son. It’s a fabulous building it really is…peacocks greeted us on arrival and the entrance and ground floor are very pretty and in keeping with the style and era.The evening meal and breakfast were very good, and the staff lovely…I’m not sure if it’s in different management hands now…Had some drinks..had a walk around the gardens and church..very quiet and relaxed..very niceThe negatives are the rooms…..dated..old..patched up..disguising old frayed chairs with throws…. Random dated pictures and mirrors…ahhhh..such a shame..dried flowers in a vase ….No hot water..which was not a problem..no available fans in extreme heat…and half a loo roll between us…My sons pull out bed had a dirty mattress….I just felt like taking everything down and stripping it back to how it could be..amazing..it wouldn’t take too much..just a bit of vision …I was reluctant to put on this review..but I hope the staff can give this amazing place a face lift particularly in the bedrooms….bin the tackiness and give it back a bit of what it deserves We did enjoy our stay….just could have been fabulous with some careThank you"

Came for afternoon tea, which was great. Good selection of sandwiches, savouries, scones and cakes. All were tasty and enjoyed with plenty of tea. Lovely location with a cosy warm fire in the dining area, Wood panelling and tasteful decoration. Service was excellent and efficient.

I took my mum here for mother's day afternoon tea and it was just lovely. The food was delicious and there was so much that we had to box some up to take home. The staff were amazing, so attentive and genuinely warm and friendly. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing meal in lovely surroundings.

Went here for Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago expecting a home cooked meal having dined there previously. What we got was a frozen/prepackaged meal extravaganza for £22 a head for 2 courses. French onion soup I believe was from a can. Nice but not what we expected. I ordered the beef and husband ordered the chicken. The beef was some prepackaged cut meat in gravy. Roast potatoes were those frozen ones. Mash was nice but again I think it was frozen along with the veg. We won 't be going back. Love Rowley Manor and its location but was bitterly disappointed.

Beautiful grounds and church next doorStaff friendly but there is just so many tacky photos around of pantomimes which looks cheapThere is so much scope for this place New windows and de clutter the tacky photos and this place could be a goldmine especially for weddings The beds and cheap pillows could do with replacing as not helped my back at allBreakfast was good and they were accommodating for fussy me for evening meal We had lovely Greek meal in hull one night which was amazingThe restaurant and bar well set up for social distancing Rohan is a lovely guy

Just been here for mother's day afternoon tea, what a disappointment for the price, sandwiches totally dried out and curled at the edges, party sausage roll from Iceland I would say, quiche flan was disgusting, scones inedible knife wouldn't go through it.the teapot was disgusting very dirty ,the entrance to the place tells a story before you even enter, very rough I thought itwas a staff door buckets in the hallway leaking ceilings I suggest these people should close and get these issues in order, wouldn't recommend this dump that's supposed to be a high end establishment ruined my day I was looking forward too.

Very disappointed with the afternoon tea for the price. Three finger sandwiches with ham, grated cheese with pickle and egg. The filling was minimal to say the least, no choice of white or brown. Scone with tiny pot of jam which had to be shared with two. Small mouth size piece of lemon tart and cake plus bite size chocolate brownie. My sister had a £50 voucher for Rowley Manor but wasn’t given the choice for the dearer afternoon tea, had she been given the choice she would have had the dearer one which still wouldn’t have cost the amount of the voucher. I have had several afternoon teas which have been far superior and cheaper. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

As a family of 6 we booked for Sunday Lunch. We sat at our table for over half an hour before WE asked for drinks! We then waited another half an hour and WE asked for our food order to be taken. We waited another half an hour before WE asked “where is our food”?The long wait was definitely NOT WORTH IT! Our Sunday lunch comprised of tough beef, two tiny roast potatoes, 2 sugar snap peas and a small piece of broccoli hidden underneath a soggy Yorkshire pudding........The pieces of carrots were joined up to make 1 medium sized carrot and the roast potatoes collectively would have come from 1 medium potato! We asked for some extra vegetables, yes another 15 mins went by when the waitress arrive...

We got married at Rowley Manor on New Years Eve. We booked all the rooms the night before and the night of the wedding so the hotel was exclusive to us, which was lovely! Amanda and her team looked after us from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Nothing was too much bother. Rowley Manor has a lovely friend!y atmosphere, and the Christmas decorations were beautiful! The open fires are a definite plus! The rooms are spotless, as is everywhere in the hotel. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and different tastes were catered for. Rowley Manor has an excellent reputation for hosting weddings, and the reputation is fully deserved. Amanda and her team made our wedding...

"Visited today with my wife and month old daughter whilst we are on holiday in the area. We didn’t have a booking but this wasn’t a problem, the staff were friendly throughout and accommodating about lack of booking. We asked for a children’s menu...(website says they have one) but we were advised it’s was the basket meals menu which they advertise as selling to guests sat outside, they did also mention they could make a smaller portion of something from the adult menu. The basket meals menu is mainly fried food and chips, the kind you might share with friends over drinks, I wouldn’t call it a children’s menu. To me a children’s meal should at least come with some option of veg/salad/beans and ideally not be fried, plus the chips that arrived with her chicken bites were salted, not great for little ones. We didn’t make a fuss as for one meal as a treat we weren’t unduly worried but it would put me off going back with children. They also charged the full basket meal price so no reduction for children. Our meals, fried garlic mushrooms, salt and pepper chicken goujons to start then a beef burger and chicken burger as mains, arrived promptly and were generous portions. The food was fine, nothing spectacular just average pub food. The main issue on our visit and the thing that made the whole meal much more stressful and unenjoyable was the flies, we were sat in what they called the restaurant area and our whole meal start to finish was disrupted by or flies continuously buzzing round us, trying to land on our food and land on us, not fun. I accept that or flies can be around when doors or windows are open and it’s hard to stop them coming when food is around but or round us and more to be seen in the room seems too many to me, it really put us off especially when they were landing on our daughter. At the point of eating the meal we didn’t raise the issue as we couldn’t see that anything could be done about it and I’m sure the staff are not a fan of the flies either. I did raise the issue whilst paying and was told they knew about the problem and were doing their best to solve it, sadly for us it would stop me wanting to go again. All in all not a great experience and the food whilst nice enough wasn’t good enough to overcome the issue of the flies and the lack of a proper children’s menu."
