"Fortunately, in the last few weeks we have been to the inn “Zur Traube” in Ziegenbach. And that has several reasons: Ziegenbach is an ideal starting point for hiking tours in the Steigerwald or Wine french. The inn has a cozy guest room; traditional and stylishly decorated and decorated without excessive design allures. If you are looking for a modern “Schickimicki” lounge, you should go elsewhere; you can also sit outside in the garden, which is very lovingly designed but not overly decorated. But what would be the most beautiful inn without the hosts and the cook?! Family Pfeufer are hosts (family operation in 3rd generation as you wish. You just feel comfortable and welcome. The son cares for the culinary delights. And that's what he's really doing together with his team. The food is excellent, “ground” in the most positive sense of the word. A lot comes fresh from your own farm or from the surrounding area. Local, seasonal and high quality. The menu offers “classic” such as schnitzel, sausages, roasts etc., but also changing palate delights, which are often very refined but not exaggerated experimentally prepared and combined. We are always thrilled with what Mr Pfeufer can fall in and how great it tastes, e.g. a rehschnitzel with walnut porade or the smoked Haagerella (local mozzarella similar cheese with tomato beet. A special “event” is of course the Kärwa, where the menu is extended accordingly. In addition, in the months with R there are delicious carp dishes, whose selection is still extended in the carp cup weeks. Self-baked cakes, delicious snowballs, cinnamon rolls and other desserts round off the menu sweetly. You don't have to thirst either. Cool beers, refreshing juice choirs (my favorites: Rhabarber and Quitte or a fine selection of Franconian wines can be remedied here. In addition to fresh eggs, honey and others, homemade sausages in the glass or smoked tea can be taken. The smoked sausages (why are really a hit. We are looking forward to the next time at Pfeufers and have added the grapes to our Top 3 restaurant list."

"I did not got an warm welcome. I was given a table by an unprofessional waiter. She gave me the Meny but did not ask me if I want something to drink. After I was ignored in several minutes and I was on my way to leave the place, but when they noticed, an another, kind and smily waiter came. I got some old and unfresh bread-pieces in a really dirty bread basket. The salad with ruccola and mini mozarella looks nice, but was covered with a cheap and acid balsamico. The calzone was not either very good. So save your money and spend them in a better place!"

"Der Service ist angenehm, sicher und kompetent. Die Tellersprache ist erfreulich. Das Ambiente des kleinen Restaurant ist gemütlich. Die Küche hat jedoch ihren Weg nicht so recht gefunden. Da gibt es schöne Ansätze, aber in der Summe ist das Ganze doch eher flach und wenig begeisternd. Den Sossen sollte man mehr Charakter verleihen, dem schönen Grundprodukt der Wildbratwurst lässt sich sicherlich mehr Aroma entlocken. Knödel als Fertigprodukt sollte nicht angeboten werden. Schmorgerichte, sind sie gut gelungen, erleichtern den Küchenbetrieb. Da sollte aber alles stimmen. Die Idee mit den Limonaden (Nusslimonade) ist lustig und gut. Wer in Iphofen landet, kann dort getrost etwas essen. Die Weinkkarte ist interessant und hebt sich angenehm von den „ Platzhirschen“ ab ."

"Wir saßen zum Abendessen unter Glyzinien im gemütlichen Innenhof. Wir haben insgesamt sehr gut gegessen: als Vorspeise Carpaccio von weißem und grünen Spargel mit Garnelen, als Hauptgang hatte ich Rehrücken, meine Frau Geröstel. Alles war optimal zubereitet, der Rehrücken so gebraten wie ich es mir vorgestellt hatte. Danach wollte ich eine Käseplatte, die dann - weil der heimische Käse ausgegangen war - mit französischem Käse serviert wurde (mit meinem Einverständnis).Sie war OK, doch kennen wir da aus Frankreich Feineres. Nicht optimal war auch die Weinempfehlung zum Käse (Scheurebe Beerenauslese), die wahrscheinlich auf den regionalen Käse abgestimmt war. In unserem Falle hätte nach unserem Geschmack ein Elsässer Gewürztraminer besser gepasst.Ein weiteres Problem mit Wein gab es bei der Bestellung zu Beginn. Wir wollten zum Carpaccio einen Weißwein, und ich zum Rehrücken einen Rotwein. Dass das Glas Rotwein (Spätburgunder) schon gleich - noch bevor die Vorspeise kam - auf den Tisch gestellt wurde, war befremdlich. Ansonsten fand ich die Bedienung insgesamt etwas aufdringlich, da ständig nachgefragt wurde, ob man weitere Wünsche habe."
