I had planned a clear suppe with fish shed and what was quite different. the dark orange mixed suppe was based on hussein, guanard and congereel. it came served with a mild Cheddar cheese, rouille(? and crumb. the suppe was simply delicious and was the perfect hearty dish after a walk around the windswept harbour. I thought that was excellent.

Came in this afternoon for a girly afternoon, and Amanda upstairs was absolutely amazing. I’m heavily pregnant so obviously wasn’t drinking, I mentioned to a friend that I missed French Martinis so Amanda went to the effort to mix me up an alcohol free version which was perfection and really made my day so unusual to have staff that are willing to go the extra mile for people.

had a date night with my friend and was very excited about it. we love both seafood and we were not disappointed! the staff and the service were very good and some of the staff are very attentive. the seafood plate we shared was amazing. many cocks but all seafood were good. maybe a little more lemon and maybe mayonnaise. definitiw a tasty bite. highly recommended. can't wait to go again! more wein of sa would be great.

So, all the reviews are about the restaurant but, we stayed in Kittens which is one of their 4 rooms they have just around the corner. Positioned above the Smokehouse in the middle of the harbour buildings, these individually styled rooms are a little gem. ‘Kittens’ (each room named after local fishermen) has 2 bedrooms and a walk in shower. The beds are very comfortable and breakfast is either served at Rocksalt or via a little hamper to your room door. We will be back!! Perfect for the Eurotunnel!!

brand sargeant has created a beautiful restaurant in folkestone. of what I heard there were some toothing problems, but obviously these were overcome. the food was nice and so was the service. eating at rocksalt is unpretentious, but honest and elegant. the kitchen is characterized by well cut, classic based dishes and the quality of local Kentish products radiates through the plate. the locals also seem to have embraced this restaurant: on Sunday I had lunch there, the place was full. for me is rocksalt the perfect boxing stop on my way in and out of Britain. hopefully back soon.

Rocksalt side shell down. this was the second visit to a birthday contract. after perfect start, however, this was left off by the accompanying vegetables. last time we complained about the bratkartoffeln and nothing has changed. they were rock hard that obviously had been immersed in the deep fat freezer to heat them again, so it is almost impossible to cut them, alone eating them without serious danger to teeth. the boiled in their skin kartoffels looked good, but were the most dry sorts available to suck the last moisture from the mouth. the supplements are a paid and integral part of a meal, so much attention should be paid to them as the main.
