"Located in the small town of Widdig between Cologne and Bonn, the Hotel Café Restaurant Rheinterrassen has been an old-worthy restaurant since 1645. With appropriate timely reservation you can sit directly on the water – either in the beer garden or in the protected restaurant. I was from the Siebengebirge over Bonn on the way home via Landstraße) and came through the town of Widdig. There was a return for lunch. The large parking lot was occupied only with few vehicles. There were therefore only a few tables in the interior and I could actually take a seat directly above the water. The two friendly service staff served the few food guests and expect the coffee shop for the afternoon. From the extensive menu I chose a wild dish, the wild goulash with mushrooms, late zle, cranberry berry and separately a bowl with apple compote; a quiet water and a glass of red wine from the Ahr Walporzheimer). I didn't have to wait long – even though the view of the passing ships distracts. The dish tasted excellent – it should be noted that for the normallesser a soup or appetizer would certainly be necessary for saturation. The final espresso was perfect."

Schönes Ambiente und super leckere Waffeln. Die Preisleistung ist ein Wenig gehoben. Dafür gibt es aber einen schönen Ausblick über den Rhein. Waren schon mehr Mals dort und sind zu frieden.

Wir sind öfters auf der Terrasse des alteingesessenen Hotels zu Gast. Die Karte ist überschaubar. Die Preise sind nicht gerade niedrig!!! Der Service in der Regel zügig. Die Küche manchmal etwas schleppend. Alles in Allem einen Trip wert.

Trendiges Ambiente, Gerichte sind geschmacklich und vom Erscheinungsbild her gut! Der Service könnte ein bisschen an Freundlichkeit gut vertragen... Preis-Leistung ist okay. Im Sommer ist es sicher schön draußen zu sitzen und auf den Rhein zu schauen...

We have been there several times. The meals are rich of choice und very tasty. Beautiful decoration and very good service. While you wait you can watch the the ships and boats on the rhine. In hot summer days a very good place to stay and drink a cool beer.

Wir waren nach dem (sehr gelungenen) Umbau nach längerer Zeit zum erstenmal wieder hier.Die Speisekarte ist erfreulich übersichtlich. Spricht für die Frische der Produkte. Trotzdem ist für jeden etwas dabei und das in hervorragender Qualität. Auch Vegetarier sind hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Für Fleischesser ist u.A. die Currywurst (mit separaten Currygewürzen) ein Highlight.Das Preis- Leistungsverhälnis ist stimmig.Zusammen mit der tollen Lage am Rhein und den Blick auf das Siebengebirge ein hervorragendes Ambiente und absolut empfehlenswert.

Wir waren eine größere Gruppe und hatten reserviert. Es waren dann zwei Tische, die wir dann zusammen geschoben haben. Schließlich wollten wir zusammen sitzen.Auswahl auf der Karte übersichtlichGetränke kamen schnell. Essen kam dann auch zügig. Portionen je nach Gericht übersichtlich. Salat war relativ teuer und wenig überraschend. Essen war solide aber nicht überzeugend dafür teuer.Die Bedienung war unfreundlich.Einrichtung gut und der Blick auf den Rhein schön, aber ich verzichte lieber auf den Blick und esse dafür sehr gut und werde freundlich bedient.

We've had lunch and breakfast here now and the peaceful setting is the best I've had so far this trip. We're about 50 feet above the water watching takers and cruise ships go by, yet inside it's so peaceful and calm we just hate to leave! Right up the Rhine you can see a church steeple and little houses all along the side and although it's not evident from the photo below there is a walking path where you can walk your dog, your lover &/or your family and head up the steps to the restaurant. Oh yes and the food is great I took a photo of the breakfast bar- all fresh delightful choices and their lunch menu was very reasonable and I enjoyed the "fish 'n chips"- Way too many chips though

The restaurant and the terrace have a beautiful view of the Rhine and the Siebengebirge. But unfortunately the food is very bad. Coffee and cake very delicious, but the restaurant card does not offer much. I've been there several times and I've always been disappointed. For example, Schnitzel, that was 2 small chips, one was fine, the other was of a completely different consistency and seemed old. The saucer was fair. Salads always have different quality. Last time they were completely different from usual, only green salad, paprika and corn, without carrots etc. as usual. I find it very bad because I like to be there, but the kitchen should offer healthier food, be constant and the food has...
