"During our stay, we popped in a few times for food and drinks. A great bar, with a ‘buzzy’ atmosphere. Mixture of English and Spanish people frequent this bar. Few times service was a bit slow, so had to go to the bar to order drinks or pay the bill. We ate here once, had their set 3 course menu. Excellent value for money, great choice of food. Well worth a visit if you are in Turre."

"Un sitio magnífico. Fui a cenar porque me lo recomendaron. La comida súper bien, el personal muy atento y muy amable. Las vistas desde la terraza son preciosas. La única pega es que está un poco oscuro por la noche. Cuando nos trajeron la cuenta nos obsequiaron con una acuarela de un paisaje de Mojacar. Un 10 a todo, de precio también está genial. 100% recomendado."

"Nuestra primera visita al Restaurante La Sorpresa en Turre fue una delicia culinaria. Propiedad y gestión de Joseph y Sandra de los Países Bajos, su menú es sincero y casero. Se nota que hay mucho corazón, cuidado y pasión por lo que hacen en sus deliciosas opciones de menú. Nosotros (mi esposo y yo comimos cada uno media costillar de costillas de cerdo con la receta de Joseph para salsa BBQ casera. Sandra hace su propia ensalada de col y papas fritas cortadas a mano. La carne estaba cocinada por expertos, tierna y deliciosa. Las costillas de cerdo de primera calidad utilizadas también marcan la diferencia en el sabor. El ambiente es rústico, casi como retroceder a una época anterior a que Turre alcanzara el tamaño que tiene ahora. Te recomiendo encarecidamente que visites La Sorpresa y lo pruebes. Pruebe los profiteroles caseros de Sandra : para completar su comida con un delicioso café con leche. Es una pequeña joya de lugar. Joseph y Sandra te harán sentir muy bienvenido. "This came recommended to us, it’s up in the mountains along small windy roads. We were really looking forward to it and hoping for a lovely view sunset but the outside terrace doesn’t have that. The service was clumsy and quite rushed, with our main course brought out very quickly before the starter plates had been cleared and then the main plates cleared before I’d finished eating. The ambience was quite odd we were on a terrace outside which looked into the road and car park, there was a water feature which would be lovely if the pump was turned down a bit so the water went more slowly and the waterfall wasn’t so loud. There are also visible yellow pipes coming out of it which ruin the way it looks. With some small changes it would be lovely. The food was mostly really good aubergine tempura, chicken pie, beef, vegetable cous cous were all excellent as was the Moroccan tea, however one of the starters a goats cheese parcel was almost inedible just a big slice of cold goats cheese and a slice of tomato in pastry. The wine we had an Albariño) was excellent. If you’re looking for Moroccan food we had far better food and a great atmosphere at Calima in Mojacar pueblo."
