"The venue is located at Mount Gerald. Now, I wouldn't mount Gerald if he was glazed in honey, but would go back for the vegan fish and chips or, indeed, many of the other enticing items on the menu and the friendly and very efficient service. The value for money out competes many like for like venues and the quality and innovation is exemplary; who can imagine giving tofu a fishlike and flavourful consistency and then wrapping it in outstandingly crispy beer batter. Then there is the artisan gift shop and fine art prints. And the view is breaktaking, sitting high above the Cromarty Firth, just east of Cromarty Bridge, with views towards Dingwall and Conon Bridge, and the mountains beyond Fairburn, Faebait and Aultvaich filling the horizon. All in all, a wonderful experience that I hope to enjoy many times in the future."

"Waited quite a while for our food which was mediocre. Went to pay at the end, at the tills the staff were all stood with their backs to customers and had to wait to pay until they noticed we were actually there. Then when we got to the till we were informed no card, cash only as the card machine was broken. At the time of arrival the cafe door was open so we didn’t notice the small sign on the door which whilst we were waiting for cash to be brought to us by another family member a staff member rudely remarked “well there was a sign on the door” to the other staff. When I went back to the till to pay I informed staff we didn’t see the sign on the door as it was open and one staff member agreed the waitress should’ve told us when ordering. Please have more clear signage. It seems younger staff don’t have a clue what they’re doing."

"we were tired and hungry and followed a road sign for the cottage restaurant. we missed the restaurant entrance and landed in a residential property, but we persisted and discovered a little gem. we parked the car, then the slope went to the restaurant, past chickens (same breed in dressing cabins. the piste could be a problem for wheelchairs, but it is a way, so I think that temporary access could be granted to car owners. the restaurant was bigger than expected. it looked clean and comfortable, and we sat in the winter garden (no blinds, quite hot in the sun) and looked over more arduous with twakens, buds and kanaria. I had the lamb and my sister had a chickenburger. we both enjoyed our meals. the prices were reasonable, and the greeting was warm. worth a second visit."

"Miss Ying's is a gem of a restaurant that showcases what can be accomplished in a small space. Their menu may be compact, but it is filled with a diverse range of dishes made with fresh, high-quality ingredients that are expertly prepared with passion and skill. In my opinion, Miss Ying's is hands down the best dining option in the area. Even simple dishes like the spring rolls and prawn toast are taken to a whole new level here, and the satay sauce is absolutely fantastic. As someone who is in town for work, I am truly disappointed that I won't be able to enjoy food like this back home. While typical Chinese, Indian, and kebab takeout options may be popular, they can often feel repetitive. Miss Ying's offers a refreshing alternative for those looking for light, flavorful, and satisfying meals that leave you feeling good about your choices. If you're craving fresh, delicious food that sets itself apart from the usual takeout fare, Miss Ying's is the place to go."

"This restaurant use to be excellent at lunch time offering a set two course meal with authentic dishes to choose from. Having visited recently I was So disappointed as they offered a Buffet lunch which would suggest you got to select from a buffet table,...one would not expect too much for the (I think it was) per person but the buffet came straight from the kitchen on a side plate, the starter in the form of a couple of pieces of chicken which had no authentic Indian flavour, there was a tiny chicken wing, two little chicken nuggets? and I think it was a pakora all cold. Having asked us if we wanted vegetables or meat for the main again three dishes appeared from the kitchen all chicken, I asked the waiter what curries they were, he pointed to each one and said sweet, medium and spicy, having tasted the sauces they were like nothing I've ever tasted from an Indian restaurant, the portion of rice for two was measly and the Nan Bread just acceptable. I didn't think much of the service as I felt the waiter didn't want me to ask question. It's obvious that a budget has come into play because of lost revenue due to the pandemic but what false economy as people will not return if this is what is presented it's insulting to offer such poor, inadequate food when once it was excellent. I doubt I shall ever go back there."
