"Room Large cobwebs in two corners of the room. A black mark the size of a pence on the white duvet cover and food crumbs in the crevices of the remote control causing it to be difficult to use at times. The towel...rail in the bathroom was missing as was the toilet roll holder. So there was nowhere to hang anything in the bathroom, no door hooks either. Only one side of the bed had a lamp which made it very difficult to get up in the middle of the night or even read. The table and one chair were so very shabby even a charity shop I am sure would not accept them. During the evening meal which was ok another couple were asking for the radiators to be put on in their room as it was very cold. We also asked at the same time and was told that the owner had said earlier it was not needed. Staff went to speak with the owner again. we were then told it had been turned on but the radiators had not been bled so unlikely to come on. The heating was not turned on because the pipe coming up through the floor to the radiator thermostat remained cold. The breakfast was poor, no jam or marmalade available, bacon was cold and the dining room felt very cold as the heating was still not on. I did leave them a polite note in the room before leaving in the hope she would give us a call to apologise but no such luck"

We enjoyed our lunch for in the conservatory, home-cooked pies and vegetarian options, with a charming waiter.

We stopped by the pub for a quick lunch of curry. The cozy atmosphere is perfect for enjoying a meal and a drink.

Back again to this lovely pub. Nice people, good food, comfy rooms and lovely outside area with lots of flowers in bloom. All at a reasonable price.

The constant ringing of the church bells throughout the night, even on the quarter hours, kept myself and my colleague in the next room awake. It wasn't the hotel's fault, but it resulted in minimal sleep and unfortunately, I will not be returning. Voir le carte

My room was noisy as it was over the extractor fan for the kitchen. I complained because of the terrible noise and vibration, but told that was all there was. The fan was only off between and I felt they had my money...so didn’t care. Terrible service.

Stayed here previously a few years ago.Very similar decor.Room ok twin room in annex.couldnt get the tv to work,as on a weekend and early morning did not feel appropriate to find staff to sort. Also couldn't find a switch for the wall lights Otherwise no complaints...about the room.Breakfast fine waitress kept topping items up as diminished. As previously noted by reviewers not enough saucers We also had to ask for butter for the toast.Probably top end price wise but only pub in the village.Staff very friendly and helpful. The Red Lion provided a friendly atmosphere with welcoming staff and customers. The interior of the building could use some updates, such as a fresh coat of paint. The initial room I was given was cold and noisy, but the staff kindly relocated me to a much better room. The new room was clean, updated, and warm, although the TV had some issues with the remote. The food in the evening was average, with limited options in the area. Breakfast was a simple buffet with cooked offerings made from mass-produced ingredients, but still tasty and well presented. I would consider staying again if in the area.

Checked in at the bar, mid afternoon. Greeted by friendly bar staff. The owner showed us upstairs to our room which was spacious and very uncluttered. An evening spent in the pub resulted in my thinking I had drunk too much, but the morning showed...the floor to be on an extreme slope (see photos). The tea cups could do with being mugs as they are quite small. The bed was comfy and our room at the front wasn't noisy. The bells from the church are an excellent addition and I think they stop between and or maybe I was just very tired. The shower screen wasn't very effective due to handles on the bath which prevented it from sealing. As a result, water ran down the outside and down the slope in...

"My friend kindly decided to take me another friend along to this her local pub for Xmas lunch on the 12th of December which we were all looking forward too, as we have eaten there before. Unfortunately on entering the pub it seemed quite cold as there was no open fire lite when we asked they told us they had run out of kindling, so we kept out coats on for sometime until we all warmed up. Then when we kindly asked for the menu unfortunately they had none of these as apparently they had ran out of ink for there printer so we then had to look at there written board on the wall, which had fish chips added to it. We were then told by the waitress they had no chips lol but you can have potatoes, unbelievable for a pub to run out of chips. When our meals arrived it was quite disappointing for a Christmas dinner the Yorkshire pud was completely flat, but you did get vegetables served separately which were quite a good variety even though there wasn’t lots. We then went onto order our deserts Once again to add disappointment they didn’t have any crème brûlée so the choice was just Xmas pud with brandy butter or ice cream. So one of my friends could only have ice cream as she’s gluten free who always fancies that on a cold day, me my other friend had the Xmas pud that was served in a pie dish which was not very appealing or professional looking it was served with custard not the brandy butter like the menu said. We did complain as my friends Xmas pud was also lukewarm they did kindly apologise warm it up. Because we complained they did take some of our bill. But I don’t think we will be visiting again anytime soon."
