"We checked the face book site before setting off which clearly stated the cafe was open. Hiked over 4 hours and when we got there it was closed. Very annoyed. It would be helpful if they could keep their on line pages up to date and make it clear when it is closed. There were several other people there who were let down as well. The car park was full and there were a lot of hikers too so losing a lot of business and letting a lot of people down."

Went there for a drink and ended up sharing a vanilla cheesecake that was surprisingly delicious. They have vegan pastries too, chickpea one and sausage one. Tried the latter one and it was very good.

Stopped for lunch. A few vegan savoury and cake options in the counter and we decided on the soup and sandwich. Really super helpful staff member who checked and double check for us to make sure everything’s vegan. No idea why it’s got so few stars.

On the high street with outside seating and plenty of cosy seating inside. There were 2 vegan cake options and several savoury options when we visited. Also dairy free milk for coffee/tea and Alpro milkshakes. The 60p surgage for d/f milk is a little steep. Voir le carte

Super friendly helpful staff in a lovely little cafe with clearly marked Vegan items on the menu on the glass counters. Not a huge choice but enough to go back for more. Tasty vegetable tart and beetroot wellington also tried the raspberry frangipani slice cake all delicious.

They have several vegan options for take-away, both savoury (sausage rolls, tarts) and sweet (cake, pastries). The food tastes really nice and the staff are friendly and attentive. They have a wide selection of plant based milks and make really good coffee drinks. I recommend the coconut cappucino!

Lovely cafe but breakfast options very limited. All around us other customers were receiving plates piled high with eggs, but there was no vegan alternative. We asked for some mushrooms instead (not offered by the waiter), which they kindly agreed to but were fairly scant and underwhelming. Cakes, smoothies and coffees were good though! Voir le carte

We had lunch today in this lovely cafe. A very good choice of vegan options. Soup was vegan, vegan sandwiches. We all had soup and sandwich combo which were fresh and delicious. There was a vegan main course option available. Choice of two desserts. Can vouch for vegan vanilla cheesecake, best cheesecake we have tried. Service efficient and friendly.

Went here cause we were craving some soup, and were pleasantly surprised by their selection of vegan options! They offer a few different sandwiches, vegan sausage roll, smoothies, cheesecake and more! We tried their soup of the day (that day was tomato and roasted bell pepper) which was nice. We also shared a sausage roll, a sourdough sandwich with apple chutney and vegan cheese and a smoothie. Updated from previous review on 2022-10-19

"We visited to see the Beatrix Potter Exhibition with family who were visiting and spent a lovely hour going around the exhibition, however our nice time was rudely interrupted by the elderly lady working in the cafe with dyed black curly hair. We have one child with serious allergies, so instead of one child feeling left out and risking cross exposure, we packed safe snacks for all the kids going anywhere with allergies is an absolute nightmare, so we always do this. Most places are trained and appreciative of how hard it is to eat out with allergens and happy to make reasonable adjustments for this. All four adults ate from the cafe. When part of our order was delivered, we were told “this isn’t a picnic area, you can’t eat your own food, you wouldn’t take food in to McDonald’s” (whilst looking at the 2 year old eating her snacks) when I responded yes I actually would, we have a child with allergies, she asked if it was serious allergies to which I said yes and she scoffed and left, no apology, nothing. I must add that whether the children would be eating or not, they would still have to sit at the table and take up the same amount of space. Would the children also be prevented from sitting because they didn’t buy from the cafe? Still waiting on my food order twenty minutes later and having already finished my coffee and frustrated at the wait, I asked for a refund as we now felt hurried to leave because of how upset she was at the children eating snacks at the table without purchasing them in their cafe. I got the refund for my missing meal and we left without going to the shop or seeing the other art, it has left a bad taste in my mouth. We spent just shy of £100 in the place and to be spoken to like that was horrible. The elderly employee with dyed black hair really needs some training on customer service and manners. The way she looked at us as we left was awful, we will not be returning. This place is not welcoming of children or those with allergies I dread to think how they would react to someone who is tube fed, probably told to eat outside just avoid."
