"As part of this year's business trip, it engulfed us in the lively Dresdner Neustadt. Located in a backyard on Louisenstraße, the pub restaurant, which is simply called “Plane” in the Volksmund, enjoys great popularity. In the guest rooms with all kinds of Criminal Scrams from GDR times, a lot was going on and we were lucky that we could get a place in the scene room that has been established for many years. Accordingly, it took a long time until we were finally allowed to place our order. Apparently, on this Sunday evening before the holiday there was 1.May too little service staff available to meet the crowd on guests. For the ambience, GG-Kollege carpe.diem has already observed and described everything worth mentioning. We liked the original, somewhat anachronist-looking institution very well and we felt right now. The nice contact with the people at the side table even enabled some “sweeping” even free chairs. Spontaneous joining of tables seems to be part of Plan B. Just like the rainy communication at the table, which drove the volume level at peak times somewhat into the height. But honestly, this pub atmosphere had powerful flair. And the full sound scene didn't disturb us earlier at student times. On the contrary, we felt so good. With the fine selection of local beers – publisher unit beer „Fullbier“ Sächsische Braukunst, Hartmannsdorf , Rechenberger Pilsner Privatbrauerei Rechenberg, Osterzgebirge or 1312 Sabotage Pils Spent Brewer’s Collective, Berlin – we thought the waiting period for Soljanka, Würzfleisch and Co. was already very good. On our evening, however, the kitchen had not grown properly to the assault, which could explain the over one hour waiting time for the appetizers. The really very endeavored farms were able to almost hurt you, as they had to comfort the hungry guests in addition to serving, snacking and cleaning the tables “Essen is equal...” . I had decided for the sausage meat baked with cheese from chicken 5,10 Euro , which was served with toast and Worcester sauce. My colleagues chose the spread-threesome 6.70 euros from self-made goat cheese cream, thyme onion or Egg salad and slept eagerly at the table to escape the famine in the heart of the Dresden Neustadt. Furthermore, the pork carving with roasted mushrooms and fresh melons was ordered €11.80, the green kernel risotto with fried mushrooms and €9.40 and the Bauer breakfast €9.90 by my colleagues. Some classics of the simple, rustically nutritious GDR kitchens already wrestle the one or the other smile on reading the menu. Either because one of these “east dishes” still sticks to the spiritual palate in an enlightened romantic memory or because one is simply astonished about what was formerly in the socialist unity pots. For the Touri from the West, the offer of a small culinary journey of discovery is the same, which makes a homemade sulphite, egg salad bread, brathering bulties as well as roast potatoes with three mirror eggs wonderfully unconventional to the East Gourmand. Of course, the tomato spaghetti with hunting sausage cubes and grated cheeses were not allowed to miss 8,70 euros, which formerly enthused the pasta friends of the East as “noodles in fire sauce”. They should be the main course! The waiting period came a little shorter, we had already taken marillaries, sausage meat and enough liquid bread to us. My noodle classic was a lovely portion. The sauce would have done a little more sharpness, as it had to fight against the dominant gratuitous cheese. The spaghetti was missing some bite. They probably had bathed the famous two minutes too hot before themselves. Nevertheless, the “DDR-Bolognese” did not turn into a palate endaster, as the bids tasted for freshly prepared products and made the waiver of convenience products positively noticeable. My colleagues praised the juicy schnitzel and the clone green kernel. The sauce Hollandaise, which was served to the asparagus dish, was unanimously “too thin”. The Beelitzer Royal Coat would have earned better. We left the “Plane” for a while and were richer in some culinary experiences. With the certainty that such shops do not make a significant contribution to preserving our cultural heritage in the matter of food and drink, we saw this somewhat lengthened. Dinner again with other eyes and looking forward to the next pub. We didn't have to find them in Louisenstraße for long. Great neighborhood, attractive shops! Dresdner Neustadt, we're coming back!"

"I stayed at the hotel in which this restaurant is situated, it is on the 5th floor, and I passed it a couple of times but it was always empty. One reason, I think, is that the menu is rather obscure, with slashes between the dish description as inscallop/saffron/guava/back puddingA little off- putting, I felt. However, as a lone diner, I was getting pretty fed up of waiting for bad food each evening, although in a beautiful setting, Dresden's main square and its surrounds. So on my last night I treated myself and got a table on the roof terrace. The waitress was very helpful and friendly, and produced a good selection of bread. It's clear there are 5 courses, an appetiser, a hot starter, a soup course, a main and dessert. I didn't want the soup. This wasn't a problem.To start, I had quail's egg/chick/gorgonzola/rocket, but it was so much more than that! It had a delicious fried bread cube, a gorgonzola sorbet, and crumbled herbs to garnish. It was, superb. But the description is selling itself short! The hot starter was also good, scallops in a saffron sauce, with a black pudding jelly. The "guava" ends up on the dish as a smear, nothing more. My main was beef/capers/sour cherries/ smoked aubergine, but again, more- a delicious sauce, and perfect mash- a small amount, but perfect....There are 3 dessert options, I enjoyed a nougat with gold leaf. In all, the food was beautifully presented, and the best food in Dresden so far, on a par, that is, with Kallemeiers where you have to book a table. This place deserves the same popularity but is selling itself short with the odd menu descriptions. It scares people off, like myself. I urge you to go and try for yourself. There's a great evening to be had, in a stunning setting."
