"The staff, I suppose, fairly enough, is not too bad. They do not ignore you at least, and are somewhat cordial. The staff served us within a reasonable time limit. Their attitude and service is about the only saving grace of their business. However, the..."food" they serve here, if you can even call it such, drags their real-time performance downwards into an abyss. We ordered pasta dishes and a soup. The pasta were clearly not home-made, and were factory-made and mass-produced. Low quality pasta really. They were soaked it salt, but its overuse failed to elevate the dishes and instead blatantly exacerbated the industrial origin of the food. The pasta sauce barely contained anything else than industrially-prepared watery tomatoes. Not even a single chunk of fresh vegetable or meat in the sauce. Basically the typical kind of ready-made and microwavable pasta sauce you would find in an ordinary grocery store, tucked in a counter behind dusty cobwebs and left to sit there bathed in additives for eons. I believe that native Italians would probably be aghast and revolted with this sham Italian cuisine. I certainly am, so can you imagine their reactions if they ever had the misfortune to sample the cooking here. The soup...Basically water and salt and not much else. Although the prices were low, I still feel robbed of my money because the quality was really deplorable. The restaurant itself is located in a great location, at the junction of several streets and in a small plaza, a few hundred meters near the Lake Constance shores, but completely wastes its privileged downtown location. In terms of hygiene, it was mediocre too, with oily surfaces inside, and in the bathroom. Said bathroom was small, cramped, dark and not very clean. Overall, I would not come back here again, and strongly urge people who have not been to Bregenz, to avoid this restaurant, unless you are looking to be disappointed, putting it lightly. This place is a touristic trap, and really lowers the quality of restaurants in Austria in general (I'm pretty sure that Salzburg, Vienna, and Graz have set astronomically much higher standards, but for some reason, Bregenz falls short of them)"
