Pizza Express Amersham

We often eat at this Pizza Express and find it to be a great little restaurant. While there have been some minor issues, we have visited over 30 times and continue to return because we always enjoy our meals.

got as a collection and had two burnt ridged pizzas. the halloumi bites were a disgrace, for a start we barely got any and then they were burnt! the dough balls were stale and we had dips missing. normally i would rate 5 starts when eating in but if you want a takeaway find elsewhere… disappointed

Food was very good . The Prosecco was not chilled but they tried to serve it anyway and say nothing, Honesty would have been appreciated. Waiter chewing gum was most unpleasant and they kept leaving the door to the store room beside our table wide open so we could hear the staff having breaks and chatting which was annoying. We waited for more than 25 minutes while other guests who arrived after us had their orders taken and drinks served, but we were completely ignored. I politely asked for someone to take our order, but still no one came to serve us. We eventually left, walking past several servers who continued to ignore us. It was a terrible experience.

The two girls running the restaurant were obviously too stretched, to the point they couldn’t cope. However the manager kept on taking tables for them to deal with. Why when your restaurant is already over capacity would you keep on taking walk in tables? The two girls did their best and as usual the food was good, but multiple tables around us waited a very long time and the atmosphere In the restaurant was quite stressed. Management need to focus on their team and not just taking money.

service was absolutely terrible, dropped food and picked it up with hands and didn’t get us a new one (hope he washes his hands). laughed at us and stared at our table throughout our experience, laughed about how he through our food on the table with his colleagues. absolutely terrible experience only thing good was the food, apart from the squashed strawberries and brownies that was on the floor, other than that the man who served us was incredibly rude and would not recommend him as a waiter Voir le carte

I took my 5-year-old daughter to this restaurant for her birthday, and it was a terrible experience. There was a loud kids party next to us, which made it difficult to enjoy our meal. It took a long time for us to place our order and for the food to arrive, and even the starters took forever to be cleared away. When our main dishes finally arrived, nearly 90 minutes after we arrived, they were burnt. The restaurant's excuse was that they were short-staffed with only one chef, but that is not an acceptable reason for such poor service. I will not be returning to this restaurant, as it was the worst dining experience I have ever had.

Not a great start as we were met with a greeting akin to being too much trouble when we turned up for our booking. The restaurant was busy but seemed well staffed. We waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order and stopped a member of staff and politely asked if we could order to be told “in a minute”. Starters were slow to arrive and so were mains. When mains did arrive, sides did not, despite asking 3 times if we could have the salads we had ordered. Eventually someone said “oh you’ve still not had your salads, I’ll cancel it from the bill”. The manager seems to a buzzing around but there was little or no coordination of staff. Very poor.

Had to book by phone as the booking system was showing no availability. When we got there, it was virtually empty. The first waitress who showed us to our table was lovely, unfortunately, the others seemed disinclined to make eye contact and seemed disinterested in serving. Three staff members were seated at a nearby table playing on their phones and generally having a good time to themselves, beats actually serving I suppose. My calzone was ok, ish, but the pizza dough was not nice, it was more like pancake batter than dough. Bizarrely, three families were turned away while we were eating, it certainly couldn't have been because they were full, there was only us and one other table. Managem... Voir le carte
